Firearms Training. Each member must qualify, in accordance with department Standard Operating Procedures, one out of the two training sessions. Employees who fail to qualify will be provided remedial training at the Board's expense.
Firearms Training. The Sheriff shall provide a minimum of one open range date for all sworn bargaining unit members interested and authorized by the Sheriff to carry a firearm quarterly in order to maintain proficiency in their firearm.
Firearms Training. Firearms’ training is to be provided to Police Sergeants as described in the appropriate general orders of the department. In order to promote such training, ammunition for the standard issued weapon will be provided by the employer in sufficient quantities to accomplish this training. Ammunition for personal weapons will not be provided by the Employer for this purpose.
Firearms Training. All officers within the Department of Corrections (DOC) who meet specific criteria through a selection process are eligible for the Corrections Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.), the Adult Detention Center Court Transport Unit, and the Adult Detention Center Reserve Transport Pool. All C.E.R.T. and ADC Court Transport/Reserve Transport officers shall be trained and weapons qualified within a reasonable amount of time after appointment to these positions. C.E.R.T., Court Transport, and Reserve Transport Pool officers shall be firearms recertified every six (6) months. Failure of officers to qualify or re-qualify shall be eligible for one (1) remedial class within thirty (30) days of failure to qualify. An employee may attend one (1) remedial class every five (5) years. An employee must qualify initially or re-qualify no later than forty five (45) days after the initial failure. Failure for officers to qualify or re-qualify in firearm proficiency on the second attempt shall be cause for removal from any of these units. Once removed, an employee will not be considered for selection in the above units for a period of (2) years. Additionally, members shall be trained and certified, within three
Firearms Training. The City will provide SWAT Medics with the same level of firearms training as MPD employees receive. In addition to the initial training described above, all SWAT Medics will participate in the monthly training sessions offered to SWAT Team members. Each year, employees will receive training on the following subjects: Legal Justification Use of Force Emergency Vehicle Operation Traumatic Incidents Police Incidents Involving Death or Life Threatening Injuries The City agrees to provide SWAT Medics other training as may be required to ensure a safe work environment, including training on the use of any PPE or other equipment SWAT Medics are required to use. If an employee attends any of the trainings listed above outside of their normal shift hours, they will receive overtime pay for all hours spent in training or traveling to and from the training events, starting from MPD headquarters or assigned fire station. The City will continue to provide the SWAT Medics with the opportunity to attend and receive trainings related to their primary duties, despite the need for the additional SWAT Medic training.
Firearms Training. All sworn officers are required to complete firearms training in accordance with Department Policy. The Department will continue to make a reasonable attempt to schedule such training during an employee’s regular shift. In the event this training is scheduled during an employee’s off duty time, the employee will be paid overtime at the rate of time and one-half (1½) for time spent in training, in accordance with Section 11.2 of this Agreement.
Firearms Training. The purchase of firearms proficiency training is allowable only for the benefit of eligible juvenile probation officers who have met the requirements established under the Commission's administrative rules and other applicable law.
