Flexible Work Shifts. (a) The Company may implement Flexible Work Shifts consisting of rotating shifts of either ten or twelve hour days for employees in the Maintenance Department. Articles 5.09 MEAL BREAK, 5.10 REST PERIODS, and 5.05 and 5.06 OVERTIME will not apply to employees on Flexible Work Shifts. (b) Overtime for employees on a Flexible Work Shifts shall be paid as follows: 1. One and one-half times the employee’s regular hourly rate: i) After ten hours for shifts with ten hour work days, ii) After twelve hours for shifts with twelve hour work days iii) For time worked on the employee’s first scheduled day off in a shift. 2. Two times the employee’s regular hourly rate for time worked on a Statutory Holiday, or on the employee’s second day off in a shift. (c) Employees on Flexible Work Shifts will be entitled to three paid rest periods each shift as follows: i) A fifteen minute rest period approximately one-quarter into the shift ii) A thirty minute rest period approximately mid-shift iii) A twenty minute rest period approximately three-quarters into the shift. (d) If an employee on a Flexible Work Shift is expected to work more than one hour beyond the end of a shift, a paid 15 minute rest period shall be provided. In addition, if an employee on a Flexible Work Shift works overtime such that the employee is working more than five hours since the rest period referred to in c) iii) above, then a further 15 minute paid rest period will be provided and the Company will either provide a meal, or pay a $6.00 meal allowance.
Flexible Work Shifts. 15.5.1 All ordinary time work performed between the spread of hours detailed at 8.4 will be known as “rostered shifts”. However, to accommodate shipping schedules and tidal conditions, employees may be required to work ordinary hours outside of that spread of hours. 15.5.2 Where the majority of ordinary time hours for a particular shift fall outside the spread of hours, these shifts will be known as “Flexi-shifts”. 15.5.3 Where the starting time is at or after 1300 and before 0200 then these shifts are Flexi-shifts and payment will be as detailed herein. 15.5.4 Wherever practicable employees will be given 48 hours notice of the requirement to work a Flexi-shift. Both parties recognise that the vagaries of conditions at sea and tidal movements are an inherent variable of the NT shipping industry and that it is not always possible to provide 48 hours notice of flexi-shifts. 15.5.5 Xxxxxxx undertakes to assign the highest possible priority to management of shift changes in order to minimise the uncertainty and inconvenience by maximising the period of notice of change of shifts to employees 15.5.6 Flexi-shifts will be treated as a replacement of the rostered ordinary time shift for all purposes of this Agreement. 15.5.7 Payment for Flexi-shifts will be at 150% of the ordinary time rate of pay for the first 2 hours and 200 % of the ordinary time rate thereafter. 15.5.8 The minimum duration of a Flexi-shift will be 8 hours. 15.5.9 Employees will have 10 hours rest between finishing work on a Flexi-shift and commencing work on a rostered shift without loss of pay for ordinary time through not attending for duty for the duration of that rest period. 15.5.10 If, on the instruction of Xxxxxxx, an employee resumes or continues work without having had 10 consecutive hours rest, that employee will be paid at 200% of the ordinary time rate until the employee is released from duty for such period. That employee will then be entitled to 10 hours rest without loss of pay for ordinary time through not attending for duty on a rostered shift for the duration of that rest period. 15.5.11 Employees working a Flexi-shift will be entitled to a 20-minute paid crib break for every 5 hours of duty. 15.5.12 The crib breaks will be managed by the leading hands to ensure that maximum flexibility is achieved.   • Flexible Work Schedule A flexible work schedule is any schedule that is not a regular, alternate, 9/80, or 4/10 work schedule and where the employee is not scheduled to work more than 40 hours in the "workweek" as defined in Subsections F. and H., below.

  • Shiftwork (A) Where the Employee would have received shift loadings had the Employee not been on leave during the relevant period and such loadings would have entitled the Employee to a greater amount than a loading of 17.5% of the payment under clause 23.1(c), then the shift loadings must be added to the payment under clause 23.1(c)(i) instead of the 17.5% loading. (B) Provided further that if the shift allowance would have entitled the Employee to a lesser amount than the loading of 17.5% then such loading of 17.5% shall be used for the purpose of calculating annual leave loading in lieu of the shift allowance.

  • Flexible Working Arrangements In accordance with the Employment Relations Act 2000, an employee affected by family violence may request a short-term (two months or less) variation of their employment arrangements to assist the employee to deal with the effects of family violence.

  • Work Shift The hours an employee is scheduled to work each workday in a workweek.

  • Employee Workload ‌ The Employer shall ensure that an employee’s workload is not unsafe as a result of employee absence(s). Employees may refer safety related workload concerns to the Occupational Health and Safety Committee for investigation under Article 22.3 (Occupational Health and Safety Committee).
