Hours/Work Year. 17.3.1 Duty Day 17.3.1. 1Child Development teachers shall be required to be at their assigned work site no more than 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the students' instructional day. Child Development teachers are expected to remain a sufficient amount of time after the latest student dismissal time to take care of professional responsibilities. If a student has not been picked up within 30 minutes after dismissal, the Child Development teacher shall escort that student to the school/site office for supervision unless the Child Development teacher is also the designated site supervisor for their site. 17.3.1. 2Child Development teachers shall normally remain at assigned sites for assigned times unless site administrators are notified. Nothing in this article shall prevent an immediate supervisor from allowing a Child Development teacher to arrive late or leave early in cases of an emergency situation; in cases beyond the instructional day, there shall be no deductions.

Hours/Work Year. 31.1 High School Work Day At Oakdale High School a seven period day will be offered to students using the District approved bell schedule. During this time teachers will be in a designated location and will be available to help students. This service can be before school, lunch-time, or after school. 31.1.2 The regular teacher work day at Oakdale High School is three hundred eighty five minutes (385) which includes a forty-five minute duty free lunch, a ten (10) minute break, and six (6) minute passing periods between classes. Hours beyond those of the students’ day will be used to fulfill other professional obligations such as back-to-school night, SST, IEP and 504 meetings. Sites will continue the practice of scheduling the majority of the SST, IEP and 504 meetings during school hours/prep periods when possible. 31.1.3 Teachers will have five (5) periods of student instruction and have one (1) preparation period. The primary purpose of preparation periods is for staff members to prepare for all of their classes every day. A secondary purpose of preparation periods and other time on campus is to provide time for professional obligations and related activities. Teachers may be required to use their prep periods to meet for staff/curriculum development in accordance with the goals and objectives of the District. The maximum number of prep period meetings shall be two (2) a quarter. The site administrator shall give a 36 hour advance notice prior to prep period staff meetings except in the case of emergency situations. 31.1.4 Teachers will be scheduled periods one (1) through six (6) or periods two (2) through seven (7) as determined by student and department needs. Hours/Work Year. 6.1 Work Year (Regular School Year) 6.1.1 The number of workdays scheduled for employees covered by this Agreement shall be as follows: teachers - 185 days; psychologists and media specialists - 194 days; secondary counselors - 203 days; elementary counselors - 185 days; special education teachers - 187 days. Banked time will be used for collaboration, completion of school site goals, or other professional duties. 6.1.3 It is also understood that the varying nature of a unit member's professional responsibilities may include obligations beyond the on-site, 7-hour workday. These responsibilities may include planning, preparation, evaluation of student work, participating in adjunct duties, and communication with parents and/or guardians, students and District personnel. 6.1.3.1 If an employee agrees to a 6/5 contract for a school year, it is understood that an additional 20% of time or 1 hour, 24 minutes beyond the 7-hour workday may be needed to complete the enhanced workload.   • Hours Worked For the purpose of computing the number of hours worked, all time during which an employee is in paid status shall be construed as hours worked.

  • Work Year The full-time work year for all employees employed in EA and ECE job classes shall be a minimum of 194 work days to correspond with the school year calendar.

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week for full-time employees covered by this Agreement shall be forty (40) hours, exclusive of the time allotted for meal periods, consisting of five (5) consecutive work days followed by two (2) consecutive days off. The week shall commence with the shift that includes 12:01 A.M. Sunday of each calendar week and end at the start of the shift that includes 12:00 midnight the following Saturday. The Employer retains the right to modify the work schedules to meet operational needs.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME Section 15.1 This Article is intended to define the normal hours of work per day or per week in effect at the time of execution of this Agreement. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as preventing the Employer from restructuring the normal workday or workweek as necessary to promote efficiency or improve services, or from establishing the work schedules of employees. However, nothing in this Section shall relieve the Employer of its duty to bargain the affects of such decisions on employee wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment. This Article shall be used as the basis for computing overtime for employees who are not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week. Section 15.2 Employees may take one paid fifteen (15) minute break for every four (4) hour block worked. Employees may combine breaks to take up to one (1) sixty (60) minute paid break. Employees may not leave campus on their paid breaks. Section 15.3 Bargaining unit employees who are not exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid one and one-half times their normal hourly rate for all hours actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work week. All overtime shall have prior supervisory approval, except when it is necessary for a nurse to remain on duty to protect patient safety. Only hours actually worked are counted for the purpose of computing an employee's eligibility for overtime pay. There shall be no pyramiding of hours or pay. Section 15.4 The Board serves individuals 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. To meet this need for service to our individuals evening and weekend hours may be required of any bargaining unit employee. The Employer will establish the standard work day as beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 5:59 a.m. and starting and ending times for each shift in each department. Supervisors will establish daily workschedules. Section 15.5 Absent an emergency situation, management will notify the Union in the event management intends to institute a long-term change in the present shift times for nurses. Following notification and upon request by the Union, management will meet with the Union to discuss the reason for the change and possible alternatives.

  • Normal Work Week The normal work week shall be thirty-seven and one-half (37 1/2) hours, and the normal daily hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours, exclusive of a meal period. The normal work week shall be Monday through Friday and the normal workday shall be scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • Weekend Work (1) All ordinary hours of work performed between midnight on Friday and midnight on Sunday shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half.

  • Normal Work Day The normal work day shall be eight (8) hours and the normal work week shall be forty (40) hours, Monday through Friday, provided however that nothing herein shall be construed as guaranteeing any EMPLOYEE eight (8) hours of work per day or forty (40) hours per week. A single shift shall consist of eight (8) hours of continuous employment, except for unpaid lunch period, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • Basic Work Week ‌ a) The basic work week of an employee working full- time shall be forty (40) hours consisting of five eight hour days; b) Daily hours of work shall be consecutive with the exception of rest and meal periods. No split shifts shall be worked; c) Employees shall not work longer than their regular, scheduled work day, unless requested to do so by Management; in which event, additional time will be paid at applicable regular or overtime rates.
