Seven Period Day. Within the parameters of a seven-period day, teachers will be assigned five teaching periods for each semester/year. Each period will not exceed 50 minutes. Additionally, teachers may be assigned a supervisory period for three quarters. Supervisory duties may include but are not limited to lunchroom supervisor, advisor/advisee time, core subject resource room, department/grade level discussions, or collaborative team discussions. Every effort will be made to make the total amount of supervisor duties and length of time of said duties equitable among teachers.
Seven Period Day. If the Board determines that a seven period day for Teachers shall be followed in any one of the District's secondary schools: (1) It is intended that a Teacher's assignment would normally involve five structured classroom-teaching periods, one preparation period, and one period of assigned time. Assigned time is defined as those assignments that do not involve structured classroom teaching but may involve Teachers in curriculum development, program evaluation, student supervision, working with students on an informal, irregular basis, service as a Department Chairperson, voluntarily supervising student activity periods. (2) A Teacher may prefer a period of structured classroom teaching in place of the assigned period. The District will attempt to accommodate such a desire, if requested. A Teacher requesting such an assignment will confirm this request in a conference with an Assistant Superintendent, or Executive Director. A representative of the BEA will be present at this conference if the Teacher so elects. A Teacher volunteering for this additional period shall not be entitled to overload pay. (3) A Teacher assigned to a sixth period of structured classroom teaching in place of the assigned period, shall be compensated at the rate of one-seventh (1/7th) of the Teacher’s Salary per year for this sixth period assignment. If the assignment is for a portion of the sixth period, the extra stipend will be prorated. (4) If a Teacher is assigned a seventh period structured classroom teaching in place of the preparation period, the Teacher shall be compensated an amount in addition to the stipend required by (3) above. This additional stipend shall be at the rate of one-seventh (1/7th) of the Teacher's Salary for this seventh period. If the assignment is for a portion of the seventh period this extra stipend shall be prorated.
Seven Period Day. If the School Board determines that a seven-period day for teachers shall be followed at the District's secondary level: A. Period length shall be determined by the District. B. Secondary teachers shall be provided an uninterrupted preparation period of one (1) period per day. This preparation period shall be scheduled within the student contact day. This provision is subject to modification for alternative learning programs and overload situations. C. It is intended that a secondary level teacher's assignment would normally involve five (5) structured classroom teaching periods, one (1) preparation period, and one (1) period of assigned time. Assigned time is defined as those assignments that do not involve structured classroom teaching but may involve teachers in curriculum development, program evaluation, student supervision, working with students on an informal and/or irregular basis, working with selected students as an advisor on an ongoing basis, and/or voluntarily supervising student activity or providing an enrichment activity for students. D. A teacher who agrees to teach a sixth class in place of the assigned period described in C above shall be compensated at the rate of 1/7th of the teacher's base salary. If the sixth class is for a portion of the sixth period, or for only a portion of the school year, this extra stipend will be appropriately prorated. This paragraph shall also apply to teachers of 7th and 8th grades who agree to teach a sixth class.
Seven Period Day. In the fall of the 2009-2010 school year, a subcommittee of the High School Interventions Committee, will be formed with representation from the Association and Administration for the purpose of determining implementation details to restructure the high school schedule. The committee will work within these agreements: ▪ Beginning in 2010-2011 a deviation to the language in Article VI, A to allow for a possible increase in the normal teaching load for teachers at the high school up to thirty (30) periods of instruction per week at L’Anse Creuse High School, L’Anse Creuse High School-North, and Xxxxxx Center;
Seven Period Day. 1. The schedule for Xxxxx High School will be based on a seven period day to provide flexibility in scheduling. Study halls shall be kept to a minimum. The LTA is opposed to block scheduling.
Seven Period Day. In a seven-period high school day there will be a five-period teaching assignment. In the seven-period day each full-time teacher will have an additional 25-minute daily assignment for the school year or a fifty- minute daily assignment for one semester. Duty Assignment: The twenty-five (25) minute assignment for full-time teachers will be professional in nature, i.e., departmental labs, department head responsibilities, advanced placement responsibilities, G.T. coordination, curriculum development and/or special projects. These examples are not all inclusive. The Association acknowledges that teachers have a responsibility to regulate student conduct and protect all students on school property. Because of this necessity, principals may have supervisory assignments for which teachers may volunteer as their twenty-five-minute assignment. If there are not enough volunteers, these assignments will be rotated among the available teachers during the semester and/or year. Full-time teachers may request a fifty-minute duty assignment in lieu of the twenty-five-minute assignment. Requests must be made to the principal by May 1.

Seven Period Day. 1. Every effort will be made to assign Professional Staff Members at the high school and middle school no more than three (3) class preparations a day per semester. Any level within a given subject, which has a separate course of study and is identified by a separate course name, is considered a distinct and separate preparation from all other levels within that subject. If deemed necessary, an assignment of four (4) class preparations per day will be given first to Professional Staff Members who volunteer. However, the principal may make an involuntary assignment of more than three (3) class preparations per day after consultation with the appropriate Department Chair and the affected Professional Staff Member. This will occur only if student course requests so dictate after the Spring scheduling has been completed and no later than the last day of the school year, unless enrollment changes after the close of the school year require otherwise. There will be no involuntary assignment of five (5) class preparations per day, except under extraordinary circumstances. 2. Every effort will be made to equalize class size within each department as much as possible, based upon student enrollment and need.
Seven Period Day. If the existing seven (7) period day is modified to a larger or smaller number of periods, all time limits contained herein shall be appropriately prorated.
