Learning Resources a. The College agrees to grant Odyssey Academy students enrolled in College courses the same rights, privileges, and access to the library's collections and services as students enrolled in courses on the College campuses. In addition, Galveston College will offer these students access to the library's electronic information resources through the Internet, subject to the College's licensing contracts with its vendors and available technology.
b. Odyssey Academy agrees to allow those students currently enrolled in Galveston College courses, within the Odyssey Academy 's facilities, access to the information resources available in the district. These students are under the same rules and regulations as other students of the district and are subject to the same fines and penalties.
c. The College and Odyssey Academy agree that if at the end of a semester, there are overdue materials belonging to one institution which were used in the completion of the other's course, the lending library will notify the other so that the student's record will show the obligation. Each library will take steps consistent with their policies and procedures to ensure that the past due books and/or materials are returned in as an expedient a manner as possible. Upon return of the material the lending library will notify the other that the student has cleared their obligation.
d. The College will, in conjunction with the partner institution, consider the use of free or low-cost open educational resources in dual credit courses.
e. To be eligible for these privileges at the College a student must present proof of current enrollment. This may take the form of, but is not limited to, a current student ID card, bill for registration, or a class schedule.

Learning Resources. The Learning Resources team play an active role within the College to support our Access and Inclusion ambitions and targets. A number of activities and projects are run in partnership with other support and curriculum departments to facilitate student progression, transition planning activities and the development of bespoke support for key target groups. These activities include: Adapting the Learn @ D&A Induction to be suitable for Supported Education groups. An interactive treasure xxxx induction has been developed allowing students to use iPads to navigate around the College and watch short information videos. A range of literacy and study skills sessions designed at SQCF level 2/3/4 to support students on our Supported Education programmes. The expansion of the Skills for Learning, Life and Work portfolio to include over seventeen guides and sessions. The majority of these sessions have been adapted to be suitable for SQCF level 4 groups however sessions such as Stress Management have proven to be very popular across programmes at all levels. Playing a key role in the development of the cross-college Career Management Skills project ‘Future Talent @ D&A’ which has been designed to coordinate provision and provide targeted support to students’ pre, during and post college to aid their progression. Continual commitment to work in partnership with the Support Education team to offer Library based work placements and volunteering opportunities. Share @ D&A. This project has been designed to provide schools with access to our Skills for Learning, Life and Work resources under a Creative Commons licence. It has been designed to allow both staff and pupils access to a wide range of materials that can be used to support learning and teaching. The expansion of the Reading Ahead project to include the Outreach Centres and Arbroath Supported Education and ESOL (English as a second or other language) groups. This national literacy initiative has been extremely successful in its pilot year – with the College being awarded the Bronze Award for participation. The project is designed to promote reading and in turn enhance literacy levels in lower level groups or those whose first language is not English. Participation in the SDS (Skills Development Scotland) My Work of Work College Ambassadors pilot - aimed at empowering students to become MyWoW ambassadors within their College and peer groups. Carrying out a program to improve learning resources and increase utilization of educational technology, including: (i) development of science kits and provision of books to school libraries; (ii) introduction of pilot projects for use of computers, television and VCR in teaching; and (iii) provision of audio-visual facilities.

Student Information and Procedures Western Washington University Xxxxxxxx College of Education Deadline: The deadline to submit a directed independent study contract is the last day of class before finals week of the quarter preceding the independent study. (Contracts for fall quarter must be submitted by the end of the second week in August.) Western Washington University’s Human Services Program offers a limited number of opportunities for students in the major to pursue directed independent study. Areas of study are limited to topics that are not currently offered by Western at your site. The directed independent study contract specifies what you want to learn, how you will learn, and the evidence you will submit for the faculty to assess your learning. Learning contracts are developed, agreed upon, and signed by you, the supervising faculty member, and the Chair of the Department. Following are the steps to develop and complete an independent study contract prior to registration. STEP I: Completing the Directed Independent Study Information Section It is up to you to recruit a full-time faculty member in the Department of Human Services and Rehabilitation to supervise your independent learning experience. The faculty member must be willing to meet with you on a regular basis. You and the supervising faculty member will select the course title and number (HSP 300/HSP 400) for your study. The title that will appear on your transcript should reflect the topic you will be studying and is limited to 30 characters (including punctuation and spaces) The number of credits for a directed independent study will vary according to the time spent and the depth of learning required. To determine the number of credits, estimate the approximate number of hours you will spend engaged in learning activities. 1 credit 30 hours 2 credits 60 hours 3 credits 90 hours 4 credits 120 hours 5 credits 150 hours 6 credits 180 hours Your supervising faculty member xxx xxxxxx the proposed number of credits based on his or her professional judgment regarding the time involved to complete learning objectives and activities.
Learning Resources. Students will have access to the College library, high school library and learning resources, and any public libraries which have an agreement with the College. Academic advising and counseling will be primarily provided by the high school counselor. Training and support for counselors will be provided by the dual credit department. Counseling and advising is also available to students through the College as may be necessary and requested by the high school and/or by the student.
Learning Resources. The Board of Trustees delegates the responsibility for the selection of learning resources to the professional staff employed by the school district. Selections shall be made in accordance with Board Policy. The Board of Trustees makes the final decision for the selection of all learning resources. Learning resources not undergoing a Board adoption shall be considered supplementary materials and shall be selected pursuant to the criteria for selection of learning resources as outlined in Administrative Regulations. The selection of learning resources on controversial issues will be directed towards maintaining a balanced collection representing various views in accordance with Board Policy and Administrative Regulations. Certified professionals will have the opportunity to be involved in the selection of learning resources.
