Medical Confirmation. After sick leave of more than five (5) continuous days, the Employer may request medical confirmation. Any costs incurred in obtaining such confirmation shall be borne by the Employer.

Medical Confirmation. (a) The Employer will require a doctor's medical report where the employee has been absent for four consecutive days of work at the Employer's expense. (b) Where it appears that a pattern of consistent or frequent absence from work is developing the Employer may require a doctor's medical report at the Employer's expense.
Medical Confirmation. Sick leave shall only be utilized when an illness prevents an employee from attending work. Employees must notify the Executive Director (or designate) when ill and unable to work. The Employer may request a report form a qualified medical practitioner for absences that exceed three days or when there is a pattern of consistent or frequent absences developing. Sick leave may be denied and benefits, if applicable, will cease to be paid when an employee fails to provide satisfactory evidence of medical disability that prevents her from working.

Medical Confirmation. ‌ The Employer may require an employee who is unable to work because of illness of injury to provide a statement from a medical practitioner qualified to practise in the province of BC, providing medical evidence of the employee's inability to work in any of the following circumstances: (a) Where the employee has been absent for five consecutive scheduled days of work; (b) Where at least 30 days have elapsed since the last statement was obtained and the employee has been on sick leave or medical-related general leave. (c) Where the employee has been on a sick leave or medical-related general leave and is returning to work, the Employer may require such employee to provide a medical certificate stating that the employee is fit to return active employment, or describing modified duties required for accommodation. Medical confirmation will not be unreasonably requested. (d) The Employer may request medical confirmation for absences of less than five continuous days where there appears to be a pattern of illness. Any costs incurred in obtaining such confirmation shall be borne by the Employer.

(b) Where the Employer requests medical confirmation, the Employer will pay for the cost of doctors' notes to a maximum of $35. (c) Where the Employer requires a detailed report of an employee's prognosis or fitness to return to work, the Employer shall reimburse the employee for the cost of obtaining such a report.
