NON-ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES. Non-essential employees ordered not to work as the result of an official emergency shut-down of all or part of County operations shall receive regular compensation for the period of the shut-down not to exceed eight hours regular pay, irrespective of the length of the shut-down. Such limitation is subject to extension in the discretion of the Board of Chosen Freeholders.
NON-ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES. Employees, who are designated as nonessential during an emergency, as determined by the Employer, are subject to the following:
(a) Non-essential employees shall be released from duty and shall be granted administrative leave with pay for the balance of their normal shift, and any additional days when they are not required by the Employer to report to work due to the emergency.
(b) Non-essential employees who are already on previously approved leave with pay at the time of the emergency, or who are scheduled to take authorized leave with pay during the time of the emergency shall not be charged for the leave for that period of time when other non-essential employees are on administrative leave with pay as a result of the emergency.
(c) Non-essential employees who are already on previously approved leave without pay at the time of the emergency, or who are scheduled to take authorized leave without pay during the time of the emergency shall not be paid for that period of time when other non-essential employees are on administrative leave with pay as a result of the emergency.
(d) If a scheduled holiday falls within the time that non-essential employees are on administrative leave with pay due to an emergency, the employees will be paid for the holiday, but will not receive any additional holiday leave or pay for that day.
NON-ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES. Employees who are not required to be at work and are either: 1) released from duty (no Blue Sky or Storm Assignment) during some portion of the period of a declared emergency, or 2) who are on duty but not designated as Essential Employees (they are performing Blue Sky Assignments).
NON-ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES. Should an employee report for work and subsequently the Employer decide to close the Employer’s offices for whatever reason, such employees that report to work shall be credited for the day’s work. Should the Employer for whatever reason officially close the Employer’s office before the start of the workday, all employees scheduled to work that day will be credited with a day s work.

The County’s policy with regard to inclement weather is hereby reaffirmed: it is not the policy of Middlesex County to shut-down merely because of inclement weather conditions. Absent declaration of a state of emergency by County Administrator, all employees will continue to work as in the case of a regular business day.
NON-ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES. These employees are subject to the following:

(2) Non-essential employees who are already on previously approved leave with pay at the time of the emergency, or who are scheduled to take authorized leave with pay during the time of the emergency shall not be charged for the leave for that period of time when other non-essential employees are on administrative leave with pay as a result of the emergency.
(3) Non-essential employees who are already on previously approved leave without pay at the time of the emergency, or who are scheduled to take authorized leave without pay during the time of the emergency shall not be paid for that period of time when other non-essential employees are on administrative leave with pay as a result of the emergency.
(4) If a scheduled holiday falls within the time that non-essential employees are on administrative leave with pay due to an emergency, the employees will be paid for the holiday, but will not receive any additional holiday leave or pay for that day.
(5) Non-essential employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. In those situations, the provisions applicable to the Essential Employees shall apply.
NON-ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES a. If a public safety emergency has been declared by the Governor or the DPS Director, non- essential employees (exempt and bargaining unit) are NOT required to report to work.
b. Employees who do not report for work or who are sent home as a result of a declared public safety emergency shall be paid for their full scheduled shift(s) at their regular rate of pay.
c. Exempt employees who are in the workplace when a public safety emergency is declared shall be excused from the workplace but may volunteer, with supervisor approval, to stay and work their regularly scheduled hours.
i. Exempt employees who are approved to stay and work their regularly scheduled hours are not entitled to overtime compensation or compensatory time and shall be paid at their regular rate of pay.
d. Bargaining unit employees who are in the workplace when a public safety emergency is declared are NOT permitted to continue working and shall be excused from the workplace.
i. If a bargaining unit employee decides to remain on site, due to safety or personal circumstances preventing them from being able to leave, they shall not perform any official work and/or duties and shall not be compensated.
e. On the rare occasion when non-essential employees are required to remain at work due to the absence of essential employees, they shall be compensated accordingly.
i. Non-essential exempt employees shall be entitled to overtime compensation or compensatory time, in addition to their regular rate of pay.
ii. Non-essential bargaining unit employees shall be paid at the rate provided under their collective bargaining agreement.
NON-ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES employees who may be released during any type of declared emergency and are not required to work, JEA management determines who is non-essential employee. However, they may be deemed essential at later time during the Emergency.
