ON-CALL DIFFERENTIAL. 25.01 Employees required to be on-call shall be paid an on-call rate of two (2) dollars per hour or any portion thereof. 25.02 Should the Employer require an employee to have a pager or beeper available during their on-call period, then all related expenses for such device shall be the responsibility of the Employer. 25.03 All hours actually worked by an on-call employee shall be paid at overtime rates in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement.

ON-CALL DIFFERENTIAL. It is agreed that all Employees required to be “on-call” shall receive an “on-call” differential of five dollars ($5) for the first eight (8) hour period, or portion thereof, the Employee is required to be “on-call” and two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) for each additional eight (8) hour period, or portion thereof, that such Employee is required to be “on-call” in any twenty-four (24) hour period. Such twenty-four (24) hour period is to commence with the first moment of the first eight (8) hour period for which the Employee is entitled to five dollars ($5). Employees who are designated to be “on-call” and who are required to report to the Provincial Office during the period of “on-call” will receive “call-back” as outlined in Article 9.13 but will not receive the Penalty payment of ten dollars ($10).

ON-CALL DIFFERENTIAL. Should the Employer require an Assisted Living Worker or LPN to provide on-call services during the night (11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.) the Assisted Living Worker or LPN will be compensated with one (1) hour’s pay for every three (3) hours on-call. Should the Assisted Living Worker or LPN on-call be called out to work during the night (11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.) he/she shall be paid at time-and-one-half of his/her regular pay for each hour (or portion) worked.
ON-CALL DIFFERENTIAL. (a) Employees may be required to be on call over the weekend and during the week. (b) The weekend on call period shall be from 4:00 p.m. on Friday until 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Employees shall be compensated at two hours at straight-time rates for the on call period. (c) The Weekday on call period shall be from 4:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. the following day. Employees shall be compensated at one hour straight-time rates when designated to be on call for this period, or portion thereof. (d) When a statutory holiday falls on a Monday, employees who are required to be on call shall be compensated at three hours at straight-time rates for the on call period; and shall be on call from 5:00 p.m. on Friday until 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. (e) Employees who are required to be on call for the weekend that includes Good Friday and Easter Monday shall be compensated at four hours at straight-time rates for the on call period, and shall be on call from 5:00 p.m. Thursday until 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. (f) Employees on call who answer a phone call or a text message, shall receive an additional one hour of pay at straight-time rates for each issue related to the call or text. No additional pay beyond one hour will be provided unless the call or text is unrelated to the initial communication. (g) Employees who are on call and are required to return to the worksite shall receive an additional four hours of pay at straight-time. (h) By mutual agreement between the employer and the employee, employees who are required to be on call, may choose to take payment for on call/call-in hours as equivalent time off in lieu. Time off in lieu will only be taken in full day increments. The employee shall request in advance if they wish the payment in time off or paid out. On call/call-in hours will be paid out unless time off is requested. If time off in lieu is requested, it must be taken within the following two pay periods, or it will be paid out.
