OTHER LEAVE PLANS. The following leave plans are available to employees participating in the PTO leave plan in accordance with this contract or County HR Policy 12: Bereavement Leave, Military Leave, Worker’s Compensation Leave, and Unpaid Leave for personal or educational reasons. Protected leaves such as Family Medical Leave, Family Care, and Domestic Violence leave may run concurrent with paid leave. SCHEDULING AND USE OF PAID TIME OFF HOURS: Leave requests must be approved through procedures established by the Department Head or Elected Official. Generally, prior written approval will be expected for anticipated absences such as vacation or scheduled medical or dental appointments. Verbal approval may be allowed at the Department Head’s or Elected Official’s discretion. PTO shall be charged in increments of one-quarter (0.25) hour, rounding to the nearest quarter hour. If a holiday recognized under the holiday policy falls on a work day during an approved paid leave, the holiday will not count against the employee’s leave bank if the employee would otherwise be eligible for the holiday. It is recommended that employees maintain sufficient leave hours to cover the disability waiting period, as described in the “Disability Income Benefits” section. SICK LEAVE RESERVE (SLR): Employee’s whose leave of absence is approved under Family Medical leave including those with an eligible domestic partner Pregnancy Disability or medical care under the Domestic Violence Policy may access their Sick Leave Reserve bank immediately. In order to accurately be considered and recorded as protected leave, employees must identify the reason for and anticipated duration of their absence when calling in under their department’s call-in policy or scheduling in advance. Employee’s whose absences are related to their own illness or injury or that of their family member that is not covered by Family Medical Leave, Pregnancy Disability or Domestic Violence policy as described above, must use PTO for the first twenty-four (24) consecutive work hours for each illness or injury. After twenty-four (24) work hours, employees may access their Sick Leave Reserve (SLR) bank, if available.

  • Other Leaves The parties agree that employees covered by this Memorandum of Understanding are subject to other County authorized leave provisions including but not limited to: military leave, disaster leave, leave for civil service examinations and leave for school or child day care program activities. Specific leave information is available in the Appendix.

  • Other Leave Granting of leave is a matter between the employees and the mill management. The Company will consider length of service and will endeavour to arrange leave of absence to suit the employee's wishes. Employees with ten or more years service will be given special consideration.

  • Other Leave Provisions 1. The Board shall provide a substitute for those who serve on jury duty, National Guard and Reserve military duty, and who are subpoenaed to participate in court proceedings in which they are not involved as a party litigant or have an interest in the outcome of the proceeding. The Board shall pay the difference between compensation (excluding a travel allowance) for jury duty and the teacher’s salary if such duty is during teacher employment days.

  • Other Leave with Pay The Employer may grant leave with pay for purposes other than those specified in this Agreement, including military or civil defence training, and emergencies affecting the community or place of work.

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • Sick Leave/Personal Leave 1. Each member of the bargaining unit who is regular full-time, in an active pay status, is eligible for ten (10) days of sick leave and three (3) days of personal leave annually. No member of the bargaining unit shall lose the accumulated allowance of unused days of sick leave/personal leave by reason of having been absent for a period without pay, nor shall the employee accumulate any additional days of allowance during the absence. Faculty members needing to use sick/personal days shall fill out the requisite forms according to official College procedures.

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.
