Other Work Schedules. The parties recognize that there may be occasion, due to the specific work needs, to grant approval for a work schedule that is not currently contained in this agreement. If there is mutual agreement between the bargaining Principals, a letter of agreement will be negotiated to reflect these special circumstances.
Other Work Schedules. Other work schedule alternatives may be approved by the City Manager or the appropriate appointing authority, if it is determined to be operationally advantageous and does not exceed forty (40) hours of scheduled work in the defined FLSA work week. Other approved work schedules shall not reduce service to the public, departmental effectiveness, productivity and/or efficiency or increase overall City costs as determined by the City Manager or the appropriate appointing authority.
Other Work Schedules. When mutually agreeable to the Hospital and the nurse, the normal workday may vary. Such innovative work schedules may be established by the Hospital with the prior written consent of the nurse involved, so long as the schedules do not negatively impact other nurses and are consistent with the provisions of this Agreement. When such written consent occurs, unless there is an emergency, the Hospital shall give a copy to the Local Unit Chairperson(s) seven (7) calendar days prior to implementation for the purpose of Association review. Where work schedules other than the eight (8) hour day work schedule are utilized, the Hospital retains the right to revert back to the eight (8) hour day schedule or the work schedule which was in effect immediately prior to the alternative work schedule, after at least fourteen (14) calendar days' advance notice to the nurse.
Other Work Schedules. The Union and the City may, by mutual agreement, employ any other work schedule, either temporarily or permanently, which may be adopted for the entire Police Department, or any job classification within. Such schedule may involve adoption of a “7k exemption.”

Innovative work schedules will be discussed in Conference Committee prior to implementation. In the event of an emergency or high census, the Employer may modify the established schedules. Nurses shall not be required to work 12-hour shifts for more than three (3) consecutive days.

C. Work Schedule Approvals Alternative Work Schedules (work schedules other than the traditional 5/40 work schedule) must be approved by the City Manager or the appropriate appointing authority. The City may change an employee’s designated work schedule (i.e., 9/80, 5/80, 4/10 or other schedule) with seven (7) calendar days’ notice.
D. Alternative Work Schedules and Premium Pay Back-up assignments associated with an alternative work schedule are not justification for higher-class pay unless otherwise specified in this agreement or other personnel policy. An alternative work schedule should not increase requirements for over-time pay.

Other Work Schedules. The Hospital will make every effort to provide a full range of innovative schedules to provide flexibility for staff nurses and the potential retention of skilled nurses. When mutually agreeable to the Employer and the nurse, a normal work day may consist of: ten (10) hours within ten and one-half (10 1/2) consecutive hours when the work week scheduled is based on four (4) ten (10) hour days; twelve (12) hour work days or a combination of eight (8) and twelve (12) hour work days based on a forty (40) hour work week. Other innovative work schedules may be established by the Employer in writing with the consent of the Union and the nurse involved. Innovative schedules are defined as schedules that require some change, modification or waiver of the provisions of this Employment Agreement. Prior to implementing an innovative shift, the Employer and the Union will meet to negotiate the terms and conditions of employment related to that innovative work schedule. Where innovative schedules are utilized by the Employer (including those innovative schedules set forth as addenda to this Agreement), the Employer retains the right to revert back to the eight (8) hour day schedule or the work schedule which was in effect immediately prior to the innovative work schedule, after at least thirty (30) days’ advance notice to the nurse.
