Overtime Preference. Employees shall be given preference for overtime work by seniority, provided they are qualified to perform such overtime work. This provision shall not be a requirement on the Employer to create overtime work.

Overtime Preference. Employees may be required to work more than a forty (40) hour week. Overtime will be offered to volunteering employees within the classification, but where there is more than one volunteer, overtime shall be offered on a rotating basis beginning with the employee with the most College seniority. If there are no volunteers, then employees will be required to work overtime on a rotating basis beginning with the employee with the least College seniority.
Overtime Preference. Overtime work at the Beban Park Complex will continue to be scheduled with priority given on the basis of seniority; so that the senior qualified employee in the user department is called first. When the overtime work is not exclusive to the Beban Park Complex, the seniority preference may not apply.
Overtime Preference. All Employees working regular hours on the job must receive the preference on overtime work unless the work to be performed is of a specialized nature.
Overtime Preference. CPS custodians shall be given preference for overtime opportunities over private custodians. All overtime must be pre-approved. All Board custodians will submit their availability for overtime monthly, with the opportunity to adjust their availability every two weeks.
Overtime Preference. For the purpose of selecting and working overtime department seniority will be used for the Patrol Division and date of promotion seniority will be used for the Investigative Division. The first choice to work an overtime activity shall be the most senior employee within a bureau, shift, division, or detail that has primary responsibility for the activity. Overtime selection will be based on seniority in the following order of priority: (1) current shift scheduled off, (2) others scheduled off, (3) splitting shift between those working. An employee who has a specific area of job concentration, specialized training or primary work assignment will always be given first opportunity to work the overtime assignment. If a senior employee is not offered overtime according to this paragraph, they will be compensated for the hours missed without being required to work replacement hours. If exigent circumstances or an immediate need to assign personnel arise then the Sheriff or his designate may disregard the overtime selection process, if the situation will not allow time for the selection process to be used.
Overtime Preference. Overtime, when available, will be offered to maintenance personnel on a rotating basis, based upon supervisor's recommendations and appropriate skills needed to perform the particular task. Whenever possible, maintainers will be given notice of weekend overtime by Thursday of that week.
