Paid Personal Leave Days. On the first payroll day of the payroll month of January, full-time bargaining unit members will be credited annually with six (6) paid personal leave days which must be taken during the following twelve (12) months, at a time or times requested by the bargaining unit member and approved by the supervisor. Use of paid personal leave shall not be unreasonably denied. Any paid personal leave not taken by the last payroll day of the payroll month of December will be forfeited by the bargaining unit member. Except if as the result of a layoff, employees who leave the University and return shall be eligible for no more than one personal leave award per fiscal year. Personal leave days for regular part- time bargaining unit members will be granted on a pro-rata basis. Personal leave may be available in units of fifteen (15) minutes and may be used in conjunction with vacation leave. Paid Personal Leave Days. Effective January 1, 2010, Employees in job classifications 4-10 will be granted 2 Personal Leave Days with pay and with no loss of benefits, each calendar year, to be scheduled by agreement of the Employee and her Supervisor.
Paid Personal Leave Days. Full-time bargaining unit employees, and part-time bargaining unit employees who regularly work at least thirty-two (32) hours per week, who have completed their new-hire probationary period, shall be granted two (2) days of paid personal leave per contract year. For example, a part-time employee who regularly works 20 hrs./week, will receive two (2) “days” off equivalent to four (4) hours/day for a total of eight (8) hours annually. Requests for such leave must be approved by the appropriate supervisor. Unused personal leave shall not be carried forward to subsequent contract years.
Paid Personal Leave Days. An employee shall be entitled to use up to four (4) sick days as outlined in 21.01 above as paid personal leave days. Except in emergency situations, an employee shall give the Employer at least forty-eight (48) hours notice of when they request to utilize a sick day as a personal leave day. The Employer agrees to provide a response to such a request within twenty-four (24) hours from receipt of the notice from the employee.
Paid Personal Leave Days. A. Following three (3) months of continuous employment, a leave with pay of up to three (3) working days in a fiscal year may be granted to eligible employees to be used for personal emergencies; residential moves; religious holiday; healthcare and legal appointments; professional continuing education; and, elder or child care emergencies. This leave is provided to meet those situations that cannot reasonably be scheduled outside of normal working hours and is not to be used to extend vacations, other leaves or to be considered entitlement to additional time off. B. Requests for Paid Personal Leave Days must be submitted online to the employee’s Supervisor at least five (5) days in advance, except in cases of emergency, when such notice would not be possible. C. Approved personal days shall be granted in no less than half day increments. D. Unused portions of this leave will not be paid out or carried over from year to year.
