Payroll Deduction for Union Dues a) During the life of this Agreement, the Employer agrees to deduct Union membership dues and initiation fees uniformly levied in accordance with the Constitution and the Bylaws of the Union from each employee covered by this Agreement who executes and files with the Employer a proper check-off authorization form.

Payroll Deduction for Union Dues. The Company shall make payroll deductions for the Union’s regular and usual monthly dues or agency fee, upon receipt by the office designated by the Company of a voluntary written assignment from the employee covering such deductions on a form mutually agreed to by the Union and the Company. The list of such deductions will be itemized to include each such employee’s permanent employee number, name, and amount of deduction, and such itemization will be forwarded to the Union. The regular and usual monthly dues shall either be in amounts that are specified on such assignments, or pursuant to a written formula, submitted by the Union to the Company which, in either case, the Company has approved in writing in advance as being administratively practicable. The Company agrees to make monthly payroll deductions for Union dues for those employees on travel assignment scheduled to be 90 days or less who have a valid authorization card on file, regardless of the employee’s payroll classification while on such assignment.

The Union will promptly notify the Company of any changes in the rate of dues during the term of this Agreement. The Company will not deduct dues or discontinue dues deductions absent authorization from the employee. In no circumstances shall the Company be held liable for the payment of any dues to the Union. Payroll Deduction for Union Dues. [Amended FY18 – FY20] At the election of the employee, the City will deduct Union dues from the employee’s wages in such amount as determined by the Union, provided, however, that no such deduction shall be made from an employee’s wages, unless the employee has authorized such deduction on an appropriate form, a copy of which shall have been submitted to the City. Said authorization may be cancelled by a sixty (60) day written notice to the City by said employee. Dues deducted by the City Treasurer in accordance with authorization cards, shall be in the amount of such dues in existence at the time of the deduction as certified to the Treasurer of the Union. Increases in such dues shall be made upon the City's receipt of written notification by a duly authorized Union representative. The City Treasurer shall remit the aggregate amount of dues to the Treasurer of the Union or as specified by the Union by the 21st day (or other date, if applicable) of each succeeding month. In the event the Union Treasurer desires to check with the City to determine payroll deductions for Union dues s/he shall have access to such information.
