Planned Absence. The academic employee will submit a written request for leave with sufficient advance notice to allow timely consideration by the Unit Administrator. Planned Absence. 10.1. If written notification is given at least 2 weeks prior to any planned absence then meal charges will be deducted for the unattended days 10.2. Students who opt for a term time only place will be expected to take their child out of nursery during university vacation times, as shown on the University web site. If you require your child to attend nursery during any of the vacation dates, please inform the nursery giving at least four weeks’ notice.
Planned Absence. Attending a medical or dental appointment will be counted as authorised as long as the pupil’s parent/carer notifies the school in advance of the appointment. However, we encourage parents/carers to make medical and dental appointments out of school hours where possible (see also section 3). Swipe cards At the start of year 12, all students are issued with a ‘swipe card’. This card must be used every day when you come into school to register you electronically. You must also use this card to register for your supervised study sessions. After half term in October lunch passes may be awarded to those students working on or above target in each of their subjects. Only these students will be permitted to leave the school site. Students travelling between sites also need to swipe in on arrival and out as they leave both schools. Students who persistently forget to use their swipe cards may be placed on attendance report.

Planned Absence. If a student has a hospital, orthodontist, practical driving test, university visit, religious festival or other authorised appointment the Sixth Form Office should be advised in advance of their intended absence. Marks will not be adjusted in retrospect. A telephone call or email must be received by the Sixth Form Office before 8.30am to notify us of a students unexpected absence for that day (01924 232860). Full details of reason for absence will be required and again, this needs to be done by a parent/carer. If a student goes home from college due to illness, they must advise the Sixth Form Office prior to leaving. A parent/carer will be informed prior to allowing a student to leave site. There may be occasions where students are not present in class due to authorised college events.
