Planned Absences. Major school vacations are scheduled during December, February and April. Families are encouraged to schedule vacation time during these allotted days, and strongly discouraged from being absent while school is in session. Missed instructional time is irretrievable and its benefits lost on the absent student. Students in grades 4-8 who will be absent for more than one day must inform both the office and the homeroom teacher and must obtain a Planned Absence Form. Students are responsible for collecting any available school work prior to the absence and/or for completing missed school work within five (5) days of their return. Leaving the school grounds during the school day is not permitted. The school day begins when students arrive at school and ends when they are picked up, take the bus or walk home. Students at Mater Christi after the end of the school day must be in a supervised school program at all times on school grounds. Federal Law requires all visitors, including parents, guest speakers, and volunteers to report to the Main Office before entering either building. At Mater Christi, visitors are welcome if they have been properly cleared through the Main Office in advance, signed the visitor log and procured the appropriate name tag and wear it throughout the time they are at school. Parents are asked not to interrupt classes while they are in session or during dismissal time. If parents need to bring forgotten items or messages to a child, please call or report to the office, and we will arrange to get items and messages to the students. Parents are not to go to classrooms or to enter the building at any time without making arrangements ahead of time for a meeting. Parents with students in K-8 should wait for students outdoors, not in the school lobbies or corridors adjacent to classrooms. Regular volunteers, chaperones, and drivers for field trips are required to undergo a background check. Forms, which must be signed and notarized, are available at the Main Office. There is no fee for this process. School employees and coaches are required to undergo a criminal background check. Applicants pay for fingerprinting and processing by the Vermont Criminal Information Center. All information is strictly confidential. An essential aspect of successful learning is a healthy partnership between parents and school. The Mater Christi PTO plays an important role in creating this partnership. The primary purpose of the PTO is to facilitate communication bet...
Planned Absences. Employees are expected to provide their manager with as much notice as possible when using PTO for medical appointments or other planned activities. Consistent with paragraph E(1)(a), certain days or periods of days may be foreclosed by Annually Scheduled PTO. Intervening Planned Absences, vacancies, staffing changes, or unforeseen events may further restrict available time. Planned PTO may be denied, when in the manager’s judgment, it is necessary for the efficient operation of the department. Individuals opting to not preschedule all their PTO as provided in Paragraph (E)(1)(a), acknowledge they will be subject to the needs of the business in requesting to use said time.
Planned Absences. Employees will obtain prior approval from their department heads or Deans for planned absences. If approved, the department head or Xxxx will determine whether the absence will be with pay or without pay. In the case of planned absences with pay, employees will normally make alternate arrangements to fulfill their assigned duties. These arrangements must be approved by the department head or Xxxx, or executive director of the Centre for Continuing and Distance Education or their designate.
Planned Absences. Parents are discouraged from taking children out of school for vacation during the school year. Even though some written work may be completed, there is no way to make up class discussions and presentations. If work is requested prior to an extended absence, students are expected to turn in the requested work the day that they return to school from the absence. Students will be given one day for each day that they are absent to make up the work. After the absence grace period, it will be considered late work. Students are to report to their homeroom teacher the morning following the absence and get the absent work form. Students are then to meet with each teacher during class time to receive assignments and schedule make-up tests. Students should not bring homework or books to lunch/recess. Students are expected to clean up their lunch mess. Students will keep their conversation and noise at an appropriate level. Lights Out = IMMEDIATE SILENCE. Talking after lights out will result in graduated consequences. Students are expected to clean up classroom, check agenda, and collect papers and whatever else the teacher directs. Teachers will dismiss students to the lockers to gather their books and then line up for dismissal. Students will be dismissed from their last hour class to either to the parking lot or the ACED program in the auditorium. Parents MUST come into the gym to pick up the students on inclement weather days. Students are expected to wait for their carpool in the parking lot directly in front of the North Exit door. Students are not allowed to wander around the parking lot. Beverages/snacks may not be purchased after school and ACED participants need to be in the auditorium and not in the parking lot. Students will not be allowed to return to the building once dismissed. All students must have exited the building by 3:15. Any student waiting for a pick up after 3:15 will be sent to the ACED program.
Planned Absences. Women residing in shelter may leave the shelter facility for periods of time on a planned basis and, when doing so, are to inform staff of their destination, contact information (if available), and their expected time of return to the shelter. In circumstances where women need to leave their children at the shelter during their absence, child care must be prearranged with shelter staff.
Planned Absences. It is your responsibility to pick up your share at the date and time of the scheduled pick-up. If you know that you will be absent ahead of time, you have two options: • Let staff know with a text to your site leader or an email to xxxxx.xxxx@xxxxxx.xxx at least one week in advance of any planned absences. You are allowed to miss 2 pick-ups during the CSA season with advance notice. • Arrange for someone else to pay for and pick up your share if you cannot. You do not need to let your site leader know if someone will be picking up your share for you. Your replacement can tell the site leader your name and pay for the share at the time of pick-up.
Planned Absences. (surgery, etc.) An employee who expects to be unable to report for duty because of planned incapacitation (surgery, etc.) shall notify her/his immediate supervisor or designee as soon as practicable prior to the planned absence via OPM Form 71 , Application for Leave. She/he shall be required to furnish a medical certificate within fifteen (15) days after return to duty, to substantiate the request for approval of sick leave, SF 71, when the absence exceeds five (5) workdays.
Planned Absences. If a Specific Service User is absent from the Specific Service User Address due to a Planned Absence the Commissioner will use all reasonable endeavours to provide at least 36 hours’ notice of such absence or as much notice as reasonable practicable (except in the case of emergency) whereupon the Specific Services will be suspended (and no hourly rate shall be payable) for the duration of the Planned Absence and reinstated thereafter provided that this period is no longer than 4 (four) weeks and that there is no substantial variation to the Individual Support Plan. No Retainer Payment will be paid for Planned Absences.
Planned Absences. We ask that families schedule trips only during numerous non-school days in the year. If however, a parent has a planned absence for their students, they should first notify the Lower School Principal to obtain approval for the absence. The administration will then let the teacher know the student has approval and may receive any work or test to be missed. Parents should notify teachers two weeks in advance to make arrangements for missed work or tests to be completed prior to the absence. Make up tests times are scheduled at the discretion of the teacher for times that do not interfere with the normal school day. Directed Studies students must also contact Xxxxx Xxxxx at xxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx two weeks prior to an absence via email to set up test times when space is available. Students who miss for an absence other than illness, emergency or death in the family may be asked to come to school early, stay at school late, skip recess, or skip a special in order to make up for missed tests. Makeup work is conducted in accordance with Canton Academy’s academic policies and procedures. The administration of Canton Academy reserves the right to excuse or not excuse all absences. All make-up work and tests will be due upon return to school if an absence is unexcused. In the event of excessive absences, frequent early dismissals from school, or lack of documentation referencing why the child was not at school, a meeting with the Head of School will be required. All absences including early dismissal from a class at the end of the day will be considered unexcused unless specifically excused by the administration. Make-up work should be completed within the time frame of one day for each day missed. Parents may also view the teacher’s lesson plans/newsletter to see what material was covered. Make-up work that results from an unexcused absence, although required at the discretion of the teacher and the principal, will not receive full credit. Students absent for extra-curricular activities or for attending an athletic event are not excused from the school work that they will miss; any test or assignment is due as scheduled when returning to school. Make up work for students who are in In School Suspension or Out of School Suspension will be left up to the principal’s discretion. Any test or work missed during this time may result in a zero (0) on the test or missed work. Parents coming to the school to check out students should come to the Lower School Office (gra...
