President’s Time. 3.2 The President of the Association shall, at the request of the Association, be granted a leave of absence without pay during his/her term of office. During his/her term in office, his/her place on the salary scale will advance at the rate of a teacher on active status. Such leave shall be arranged so that payment of the president’s salary and deductions for retirement and fringe benefits will be made by the Office of Payroll and reimbursed by the Association.
President’s Time. Upon approval of their Supervisor or other authorized County representative, the Union President or designee shall be allowed up to eight (8) hours per month, with pay, for the purpose of administering Union functions throughout the County. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.

President’s Time. 3.2.1 The Board agrees to return the president on leave of absence to the same position held when the leave of absence was granted, providing the president notifies the Board of his/her desire to return to that position at the time the leave is granted, unless the president would have been involuntarily transferred under other provisions of this Agreement. This section applies only if the president returns upon the expiration of the initial leave of absence and subsequent extensions in the event the president is re-elected. President’s Time. Should the Association President need some release time to perform Association duties, a request could be made to the Administration to be relieved of certain non-teaching duties. If other personnel are available to perform the other than teaching duties, it is expected the Administration is responsible to relieve the President as requested. It is not the intention that this provision should relieve the President of such duties permanently or for a lengthy period of time.
President’s Time. During the current negotiations, the parties discussed the duties of the Local Union President of UAW Local 1869. The parties agreed that the president function includes many administrative duties critical to support the Local Union. Upon request to management, the Local Union President will be allowed to leave the work station or the plant to perform legitimate administrative function without loss of pay. If management can accommodate the request, the time will be granted. If management cannot accommodate the request at the given time, management will work with the president for a mutually agreeable outcome.
