President’s Time. 3.2 The President of the Association shall, at the request of the Association, be granted a leave of absence without pay during his/her term of office. During his/her term in office, his/her place on the salary scale will advance at the rate of a teacher on active status. Such leave shall be arranged so that payment of the president’s salary and deductions for retirement and fringe benefits will be made by the Office of Payroll and reimbursed by the Association.

If other personnel are available to perform the other than teaching duties, it is expected the Administration is responsible to relieve the President as requested. It is not the intention that this provision should relieve the President of such duties permanently or for a lengthy period of time.
President’s Time. During the current negotiations, the parties discussed the duties of the Local Union President of UAW Local 1869. The parties agreed that the president function includes many administrative duties critical to support the Local Union. Upon request to management, the Local Union President will be allowed to leave the work station or the plant to perform legitimate administrative function without loss of pay. If management can accommodate the request, the time will be granted. If management cannot accommodate the request at the given time, management will work with the president for a mutually agreeable outcome.   • Chairman An individual (who need not be a Registered Warrantholder) designated in writing by the Warrant Agent shall be chairman of the meeting and if no individual is so designated, or if the individual so designated is not present within fifteen minutes from the time fixed for the holding of the meeting, the Registered Warrantholders present in person or by proxy shall choose an individual present to be chairman.
