ASSOCIATION DUTIES. An Occasional Teacher elected to the position of President of the Local or assigned/designated by the Local to perform Association duties shall: if the duties of the office are such that the teacher(s) is required to be unavailable for assignment be retained on the Board’s Occasional Teacher List in an inactive status during the period of such unavailability. Where such Occasional Teacher is attending the Association business on a day to day basis, such absence shall not be considered as a “refusal” for purposes of Article 13.07.
ASSOCIATION DUTIES. The Employer recognizes the role of the Association's officers and bargaining team in labour management relations, and shall not discriminate against them. Provided that the needs of the Employee's department can be met, the Employer shall approve requests for absence from work with usual remuneration to enable Employees to represent the Association on the following basis:
(a) in the case of the Contract Administrator of the Association, reasonable time for the investigation and processing of grievances;
(b) in the case of meetings between the Association and the Employer, attendance by a number of Employees not greater than the Employer's representation;
(c) in the case of the hearing of an arbitration between the Association and the Employer, attendance by the grievor(s) who initiated the Employee grievance and one (1) other Employee representing the Association; and
(d) in the case of collective bargaining meetings between the Association and the Employer (whether or not with a Conciliation Officer), attendance by up to five
ASSOCIATION DUTIES. The Employer recognizes the role of the Association executives, grievance committees, negotiating committees and local Association Representatives in labour management relations, and shall not discriminate against them. Where Employer approval is requested for absence from duties, under this Article, it will be given, provided that the Employer is satisfied that there will not be an unreasonable disruption of the work.
5.3.1 Association employees shall, on presentation of their credentials, be permitted admittance at any time to any location on campus in which an employee is working for the purpose of calling on an employee on duty, provided that there is no unreasonable disruption of work.
ASSOCIATION DUTIES. 13.01 The President and Secretary, or their designate, of the Shelburne Police Association shall be granted three (3) days absence to conduct the business of the Association during the course of the year subject to the Chief’s approval. No more than two (2) members of the Shelburne Police Association shall be absent from duty to conduct Association business at one time. This absence shall be granted with full pay. At no time shall the above leave be granted if it would result in a staffing shortage or premium pay for replacement staff.
13.02 Where a civilian member of the Shelburne Police Association is requested by the Chief to attend a staff meeting, he/she shall be paid straight time for a minimum of two hours. The meetings are to be held quarterly at the Shelburne Police Station.
13.03 All civilian members of the Shelburne Police Association shall pay to the Association, such dues as may be assessed from time to time by the Association. Should a civilian member of the Shelburne Police Association be a recipient of Long Term Disability Payments or Workers' Compensation, then the dues will not be levied on the civilian member. The Board agrees to deduct by way of payroll deduction the amount of dues that is assessed from time to time to all civilian members of the Shelburne Police Association. The sum of such deductions to be paid to the Association within one (1) month following the deductions.
13.04 Civilian Members of the Association Grievance and Negotiating Committee who are required to meet with the Board shall be paid their hourly rate at straight time if the member is off duty at the time of the meeting.
ASSOCIATION DUTIES. Fifteen days in the aggregate shall be provided for Association representatives t^ attend meetings, conferences and/or conventions of the organizations with which the Association is affiliated. Additional days may be granted by mutual agreement.
ASSOCIATION DUTIES. 17.01 Any four (4) members of the Association shall be granted a leave of absence with pay to a maximum of sixty-five (65) days in any calendar year, as may be required for the proper performance of the duties of the Association (provided that this is done in such a manner as not to interfere with the proper operation of the Police Service in the judgement of the Chief) and provided that fourteen (14) calendar days notice along with reasons is afforded the Chief of the need for such leave.
a) Should an employee be elected to the Executive Board of the Police Association of Ontario (“PAO”), the employee shall be allowed a leave of absence with pay in order to carry out the employee’s duties with the PAO. Such absence shall not exceed forty (40) calendar days in any twelve (12) month period. Absence in excess shall be a matter for consideration by the Board.
b) Should an employee be elected to the position of President of the PAO, the employee shall be granted a leave of absence, without pay and without benefits from the employee’s current position in order to fulfill the terms, duties and requirements expected of the employee. The Police Service will return the employee to the member’s former rank or in the case of a civilian member to the member’s former position or a position comparable or greater than the position vacated, upon the completion of the employee’s duties and responsibilities as President of the PAO. The employee will maintain the employee’s seniority and continue to accrue years of service throughout this period.
17.03 A member who is on duty at the time or is due to come on duty shall be allowed time off with pay to attend meetings in the following circumstances:
a) If the member is a member of the Association’s Bargaining Committee, all bargaining meetings with the Bargaining Committee of the Board and all interest Arbitration
ASSOCIATION DUTIES. Prohibiting Practices – Neither the Association nor any employee shall engage in any of the following practices:
a. Restrain or coerce any employee in exercise of any rights granted under this Agreement.
b. Cause or attempt to cause an employee to discriminate against another employee because of the employee’s membership or non-membership in any Township or employee organization or attempt to cause the Township to violate any rights of the employee.
c. Discriminate against any employee because he has signed or filed an affidavit, petition, or complaint or any other form of process, or given any information or testimony alleging violations of this Agreement.
d. Discriminate against any employee covered by this Agreement because of race, sex, creed, color, age, national origin, religion, affiliation, association, or non-association; or discriminate in the application or interpretation of the provisions of this Agreement or to discriminate against any employee wherein such discrimination is prohibited by any laws of the State of New Jersey or of the United States.
e. Discriminate against any employee who has filed a grievance pursuant to Article VIII of this Agreement or any other Article of this Agreement.
f. Initiate, authorize or participate in any strike.

25.03 The Board agrees to deduct by way of payroll deduction the amount of dues that is assessed from time to time to all members of the Shelburne Police Association. The sum of such deductions to be paid to the Association within one (1) month following the deductions.
25.04 All members of the Shelburne Police Association shall pay to the Association, such dues as may be assessed from time to time by the Association. Should a member of the Shelburne Police Association be a recipient of Long Term Disability Payments or workers' compensation benefits, then the dues will not be levied on the member.
25.05 Members of the Association Grievance and Negotiating Committee who are required to meet with the Board shall be paid their hourly rate at straight time if the member is off duty at the time of the meeting. It is understood and agreed that this provision shall apply to a maximum of two (2) members per meeting.
ASSOCIATION DUTIES. (a) Any four members of the North Bay Police Association shall be granted such leave of absence, with pay, as may be required for the proper performance of the duties of the Association provided that this is done in such a manner as not to interfere with the proper operation of the Service in the judgment of the Chief and provided that ten (10) calendar days notice along with reasons is afforded the Chief of the need for such leave.
(b) In the event that the leave of absence of the Members exceeds sixty (60) days in any one calendar year, the Association shall reimburse the Board for any excess thereof.
(i) Time spent by the Bargaining Committee of the Association in negotiation, conciliation, or arbitration proceedings shall not be included in the sixty (60) days referred to in clause (b) preceding.
(ii) Time spent in preparation for negotiations, conciliation or arbitration shall be included in the calculation of the sixty (60) days.
(iii) All preparatory time spent by the Bargaining Committee of the Association that comes within eight (8) clear hours of the actual negotiation, conciliation or arbitration session shall not be included in the sixty (60) days referred to in clause (b) preceding.
(d) When the president of the Association is assigned to a regularly scheduled day shift, the sixty (60) days noted in 13.01(b) and 13.01(c) shall revert to forty-five (45) days. Such revisions in the number of days shall be calculated on a monthly prorated basis in the year that the president's schedule is changed to or from the day shift.
(e) In the event that ten (10) days notice is not given to the Chief of the need for such leave the Chief shall not unreasonably deny the request having regard to the exigencies of the Service in relation to the time off requested.
ASSOCIATION DUTIES. 17.01 Any four (4) members of the Cornwall Police Association shall be granted leave of absence with pay to a maximum of sixty (60) days in any calendar year, as may be required for the proper performance of the duties of the Association (provided that this is done in such a manner as not to interfere with the proper operation of the Service in the judgment of the Chief) and provided that fourteen
