Promotional Probationary Periods. After successful completion of the promotional probationary period, the employee shall move up one (1) step on the salary scale.
Promotional Probationary Periods. An employee promoted in accordance with this Article shall serve a probationary period of six (6) months. For the purposes of this article, NAGE employees promoted within the same agency into a NAGE Unit 1, 3, or 6 position will be subject to the promotional probationary period and rights associated, with such probationary period as defined in Article 14.
1. All promotions made pursuant to this Article or resulting from a promotion pursuant to this Article shall be contingent on successful completion of the probationary period.
2. Only time actually with full time duties of the new position shall be counted toward fulfillment of this probationary period.
3. If an employee's performance is determined to be unsatisfactory during the probationary period and the promotion was made within the same Appointing Authority, said employee shall be returned to a vacant, fillable position in the job title from which he/she promoted.
a. The employee displaced by such return shall be returned to his/her former job title. Where more than one position in the back filled job title was filled pursuant to this Article, the employee last selected to backfill shall be the one displaced.
b. In the event that no position in the former job title is available when the employee is to be returned, the employee shall be given his/her rights in accordance with Article 18 of this Agreement.
4. If an employee's performance is determined to be unsatisfactory during the probationary period and the promotion was made to a different Appointing Authority, said employee shall be terminated or demoted to a lower position in the discretion of the new Appointing Authority.
5. As close to the mid-point of the above designated probationary periods as possible, the supervisor of the promoted employee shall meet with the employee to discuss his/her performance in the new position.
6. At any time during a probationary period where said promotion was made within the same Appointing Authority, at the employee's request, he/she shall be returned to a position in the job title from which he/she was promoted.
7. If any employee is returned to his/her former position. voluntarily or involuntarily within the same Appointing Authority or demoted due to poor performance within the new Appointing Authority, said employee will not be eligible to apply for promotion pursuant to this Article for a period of nine months.
Promotional Probationary Periods. Promotional employees shall serve a one (1) year probationary period. If the promoted employee does not perform to the satisfaction of the probationary performance appraisal and supervisor, they may return to the previous position and same pay as they had before the promotion. During the probationary period, the employee may be evaluated at least two (2) times. The College may extend the probationary period, provided the College indicates to the employee and the Lodge the reasons for the extension and provided the employee and the Lodge agree to the extension.
Promotional Probationary Periods. All newly promoted employees shall serve a probationary period. The probationary period for Sergeants shall be one hundred eighty (180) days. A probationary period for an employee may be extended by mutual agreement between the Union and Management. During a promotional probationary period, the Employer maintains the right to demote the employee to the classification that the employee previously held. Any such demotion shall not be appealable through the Grievance and Arbitration procedure herein contained or the State Personnel Board of Review. An employee's probationary period may be extended by a period equal to employee leaves of fourteen (14) consecutive days or longer, except for approved periods of vacation leave. E.g. disability leave, adoption/childbirth, or any other leaves of fourteen (14) consecutive days or longer shall not be counted toward the employee’s original or promotional probationary period. The Employer will not modify the duration of a probationary period of a classification without the agreement of the Union.

Promotional Probationary Periods. No promotion shall be final until the employee has satisfactorily served a six month (180 calendar days) promotional probationary period.
Promotional Probationary Periods. All newly promoted employees will 24 serve a probationary period of 90 calendar days. 26 Employees who do not successfully complete probation may be returned to their former 27 position during the probationary period by the Employer or themselves and have the right 28 grieve but not arbitrate a probationary period reduction.

If the promoted employee does not perform to the satisfaction of the performance appraisal and/or supervisor, they would return to the previous position and to the same pay as they were before. During the probationary period the employee will be evaluated at least every thirty (30) days. The probationary period may be extended by the College, provided the College indicates to the employee and the Union the reasons for the extension.
Promotional Probationary Periods. Section 7.4.1 Any permanent employee who is promoted to the rank of Sergeant will be considered as a “special probationary” employee, and must successfully complete a special probationary period before being permanently appointed to the new classification. A special probationary period will not exceed three hundred sixty- five (365) days.
Section 7.4.2 During the special probationary period for Sergeants, the employer shall return the employee to his previous rank if the special probationary period is not successfully completed or the employee desires to voluntarily return to the previous classification.
Section 7.4.3 Special probationary employees will have full appeal rights through the grievance procedure should they feel the employer did not have just cause to return them to their previous rank.
Promotional Probationary Periods. Bargaining unit members who change job classifications shall serve an additional sixty (60) workday probationary period. Upon completion of the probationary period, the seniority shall be computed from the first date of hire. Based upon evaluation, the Board may determine that the bargaining unit member is not meeting the standards of quality and quantity normally expected of a qualified bargaining unit member in such a position. If such a determination is made, the bargaining unit member will be removed from the position and may return to his/her former position and rate of pay.
