PROMOTIONS AND RECLASSIFICATIONS. A. An employee who is promoted to a position of higher classification, but after a reasonable period of time not exceeding six (6) months is unable to demonstrate a satisfactory level of performance in that position, shall be entitled to return to a position comparable to the one held prior to his/her promotion providing a vacancy exists. In such case, the employee will be placed on the salary schedule at the salary step s/he would have realized had the promotion not occurred.
B. For the purpose of this Article, “promotion” shall mean the assignment of an employee from their present position to a position having a higher salary classification than the one previously held. Reclassification shall mean that a position occupied by an employee is changed to a higher salary classification but the employee remains in the position. An employee who is promoted or reclassified shall be placed on the salary schedule at a salary level not less than the salary of the next step on the salary column previously occupied. If the employee was on the maximum step of a salary column, then s/he shall be placed at a salary level closest to but not less than his/her previous salary and shall receive one (1) additional step.

PROMOTIONS AND RECLASSIFICATIONS. All promotions and reclassifications shall be made in accordance with the Civil Service Rules. All promotions within the Office will go to the next highest pay level within the new range, which will provide a minimum base salary increase of five percent (5%). An employee receiving a promotion or reclassification, who would have received a step increase in their old classification within twelve
PROMOTIONS AND RECLASSIFICATIONS. An Employee who is promoted or reclassified to a new grade will be paid the higher salary of either:
a. The hire rate of the new position's grade; or
b. Placement on the step in the new position's grade that results in the, greatest base salary for the applicable fiscal year not in excess of a five percent (5%) increase above the Employee's current salary;-provided however, that, to the extent such new base salary is less than five percent (5%) above the Employee's current salary, the difference between such new salary and the current salary plus five percent (5%) shall be paid to the Employee in a lump sum that is not added to the Employee's new base salary.
PROMOTIONS AND RECLASSIFICATIONS. 1) Current annual wage is defined as the salary paid to the employee on the date immediately prior to the date of reclassification or promotion.
2) Employees who are reclassified or promoted within their career field to a new or different pay grade shall receive an increase of a minimum of five percent (5%) to a maximum of ten percent (10%) more than the above-stated current annual wage, except in the event that step one of the new salary grade is ten percent (10%) above the current annual wage said employee shall be placed in step one of the new salary grade.
3) If there is no step in the new salary grade that is between five and ten percent (5%-10%) higher than the current annual wage, said employee shall receive an annual salary increase of seven and one-half percent (7.5%) which shall be effective the first full pay period following promotion or reclassification. On said employee's next anniversary date [which is one (1) year following the effective date of reclassification or promotion], he/she shall be eligible to advance to the next step on the salary scale which is larger than said employee's salary at that time.
4) In the event that an employee would receive less money as a result of reclassification or promotion than he/she would have received over the next calendar year if he/she had not been reclassified or promoted, then the UAW International Repre- sentative and EMPLOYER shall meet to resolve same.
5) In no event will the new salary exceed the maximum of the salary grade.
6) Employees who are not promoted within their career field, but who go on to a different career field, shall be compensated as specified in Section IB of ARTICLE

PROMOTIONS AND RECLASSIFICATIONS. Supervisory staff are eligible for a promotion which occurs when there is a vacancy at a higher level for which they are qualified. The announcement of the position vacancy will include a description of the position, a detailed outline of expected educational and professional requirements, the salary range for the position and the name of the campus Human Resources representative who will receive applications from interested candidates. The announcement of the position vacancy will be posted each Friday to the following Friday on bulletin boards where Human Resources notices are normally placed. Interested internal candidates are to submit their bids to that campus that is recruiting for the vacancy. All qualified internal candidates who submit timely bids will receive an interview for the position vacancy. Upon request, copies of the job description shall be made available. Each internal candidate will be notified in writing of the decision with respect to his/her candidacy. This decision will indicate: 1) the applicant has been offered the position, or 2) That the applicant has not been offered the position, including a reason for such decision. Transfer in status or classification shall not delay the use of entitled benefits. Transferred, re-classified and promoted bargaining unit members shall serve a one-hundred and eighty (180) calendar day probationary period, subject to a thirty (30) calendar day extension. Such supervisors shall retain all benefits and rights pertaining to bargaining unit members, including access to the grievance procedure, except for the decision concerning the outcome and disposition of their probationary period. Should the supervisor fail the probationary period, the University shall return the supervisor to his/her former position if it is still available. Should the supervisor’s former position not be available, his/her employment with the University will be terminated. Individuals who are terminated pursuant to the above circumstances will be allowed to bid as “internal candidates” for up to two months after the effective date of termination.
PROMOTIONS AND RECLASSIFICATIONS. 7.1 Seniority shall be given first consideration in a reclassification to a different job when the individuals being considered have substantially the same qualifications to efficiently and effectively perform the work.
7.2 The Company reserves the exclusive right to make selections of employees for promotion to positions not covered by the Agreement.
7.3 The Company will provide the Union with notification of the successful candidate selected for jobs filled under the provisions of this Article.

PROMOTIONS AND RECLASSIFICATIONS. 19.1 Seniority shall be given first consideration in a reclassification to a different job when the individuals being considered have substantially the same qualifications to efficiently and effectively perform the work.
19.1.1 An employee accepting a reclassification is required to work in the new classification for a period of time noted below, unless waived by management: A, 1, 2, 3 9 months 4, 5, 5A, 6, 6A, 6B, 7, U 18 months 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 30 months
19.1.1.1 The above time limits shall be waived for employees who are reclassified due to force adjustments to a lower wage schedule or from full-time to part-time.
19.2 In Accounting and Information Management, seniority shall be given consideration in promotions or reclassifications to a different job when the individual has the qualifications, including formal education (or its equivalent) and training to efficiently and effectively perform the work.
19.3 The Company reserves the exclusive right to make selections of employees for promotion to positions not covered by the Agreement.
