No School Days. When school is called off during any regular scheduled school day for any reason including but not limited to snow, rain, stonns, hurricanes, etc., and it is necessaiy to call in an emergency basis, members of the Association shall be given compensatory hours, a minimum of three ( 3). If an individual school is closed ( rather than the entire school system) due to a specific building emergency ( lack of heat, etc.) cafeteria staff from that school may be required to report to another school to assist for that day, if needed to cover absences. The School Department will provide transportation to and from the alternate site as needed. Effective as of July I, 2022, union members shall be required to use any compensatmy time that is earned starting as of July 1, 2022 for any reason within twelve ( 12) months of the date that the compensatory day is earned or it is lost. Alternatively, the union member may, at their election, be paid an additional $1 5.00 {fifteen dollars) per hour for hours that are worked in lieu of receiving compensatory time. Additionally, union members may elect to receive a one-time payment for all compensatory time earned up thl'ough June 30, 2022 at the rate of $25.00 ( twenty-five dollars) per hour or at the union member's hourly rate, whichever is less.

No School Days. If school is cancelled or delayed due to inclement weather or other emergency circumstances such as power outages, no secretary will report to work unless called by his/her immediate supervisor for urgent business and transportation is available. If classes are cancelled for non-emergency reasons, such as in-service days or other events scheduled by the Superintendent; secretaries will report to work as scheduled. If school closes before the end of the regular school day due to bad weather or road conditions, all secretarial employees will be allowed to leave once the building principal determines that the school office responsibilities are completed. In no case, will the secretary remain in the building after the principal has left for the day. Under these circumstances, any secretary required to stay beyond her regularly scheduled work day will be compensated for extra time according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.

  • School Day A. The length of the school day shall be seven (7) hours and five (5) minutes inclusive of the arrival and departure time.

  • Lieu Days Where an employee is granted a lieu day pursuant to Clause 17.3 or 17.4 of this Agreement, the time off granted will be seven (7) hours per lieu day for a full-time employee and prorated for a part-time employee.

  • Furlough Days A furlough day is defined as a day during the fiscal year on which employees do not report to work and are not paid. Furloughs are designed to address temporary emergency financial circumstances that threaten the financial well- being of the institution. Therefore, the President, with approval of the Board of Trustees, may temporarily place all bargaining unit eligible employees on leave without pay status when the state does not fully fund the base operating grant in any particular fiscal year. The Board shall approve the duration and dates of the furlough, after notifying the Union of the State’s failure to fund the base operating grant necessitating the need for furlough days. Employees shall be given at least 30 days’ notice of a furlough. No more than 5 furlough days shall fall within the same pay period. If the Board implements more than 10 furlough days in a fiscal year, the College shall not implement a reduction in force for unit members during the same fiscal year. If after furlough days have been implemented, the College receives full funding of the State base operating grant in a particular fiscal year, unit members who had unpaid furlough days during that year and remain employed with the College shall be reimbursed for their lost earnings due to the unpaid furlough days.

  • Bereavement Days In the case of bereavement of immediate family (as defined in article IX.G.1 below), employees will be given three (3) days that do not count against personal or sick leave. Additional bereavement days taken will be deducted from sick leave.

  • Sick Days Employees will be provided with 6 sick days per calendar year. Sick days are paid at 75% of the employee’s step rate.

  • Snow Days ‌ If an employee, after good faith efforts, is unable to report to work for their scheduled duty period because of weather conditions, the employee may utilize paid time off.

  • School Year Sarasota Suncoast agrees that opening and closing dates of the school year and school holidays will coincide with other Sarasota County schools.

  • Personal Days Employee shall be entitled to three (3) personal days annually, pro-rated for any partial year of employment, the unused portion of which shall accumulate as sick days.

  • School Calendar The Dual Credit course schedule will be determined by the location of the course delivery, provided that the required contact hours and prerequisites are met. The instructional calendar for the high school portion of the School will be based on the School District calendar and comply with all related TEA regulations for school attendance. The School District will adjust its schedule as necessary to enable Students to enroll in and attend the college- level courses provided by College. The School District and College will coordinate the State Student assessment requirements to ensure said assessments are administered without penalty. The School District, School and College will ensure that the School calendar accounts for the required per-semester contact hours for courses. When the instructional delivery is on the College site, it may be necessary for Students to attend classes on days when the School District is closed (e.g., different holiday closures). When Students take classes at the College scheduled on days when School is closed, the School District will ensure that at least one staff member with administrative authority be on call and available to be reached by the College’s Office of High School Programs or other College staff in case of emergency. The designated School staff member will have access to Student emergency contact information. While the College agrees to make scheduling accommodations for required State assessments, including the STAAR and End of Course Exams, all contact hour requirements must be met. For assessments not mandated by the State, the College and School District will come to a mutual agreement on administration dates in order to appropriately manage disruptions of college courses and ensure contact hour requirements are met.
