Regular Part-Time Nurse. A regular part-time nurse is a nurse who regularly works less than the normal full- time hours referred to in Article 4 and who offers to make a commitment to be available for work on a predetermined regular continuous part-time basis.
Regular Part-Time Nurse. Regular part-time nurse is a nurse who works a predetermined work schedule of less than thirty-five (35) hours per week. A regular part-time nurse may work full-time hours if she is replacing a full-time or regular term nurse who is absent due to sick leave, pregnancy and parental leave, workplace injury or illness or on an approved leave of absence and in such case, she will retain her part-time status during such temporary replacement for all purposes under this Agreement. If a regular part-time nurse works for six (6) months or more in a temporary full-time position, she shall receive full-time vacation pay and paid holidays for the total time she works in the temporary full-time position.
Regular Part-Time Nurse. A part-time nurse is regularly scheduled to work a 31 minimum of twenty (20) hours each week but less than the hours required to 32 attain “regular full-time” status. This does not include per diem nurses (who are 33 excluded from the bargaining unit).
Regular Part-Time Nurse is a Nurse who works a mutually agreed pre- determined work schedule of less than five (5) days per week and/or less than the normal daily hours and/or less than twelve (12) calendar months per year.
(a) Contract Nurse – is a Nurse who is employed to replace on a temporary basis, a Nurse who is off duty by reason of illness or leave of absence or is a Nurse who is employed for a medical emergency duty to augment existing staff. A Contract Nurse employed for a medical emergency duty may not be employed longer than three months for such duty unless otherwise agreed by the Employer and the Union.
(b) A Contract Nurse hired as a temporary replacement, for a period not to exceed twenty-four (24) consecutive months, shall be advised in writing at the time of hiring of her/his temporary status and of her/his period of employment. Notwithstanding any other term or provision of this Agreement, her/his employment shall automatically terminate at the end of the specified period. If, however, the Employer decides to offer her/him employment as a regular full-time Nurse her/his seniority will date from date of last hire
(c) A Contract Nurse will not be entitled to the coverage of Article 7 until she/he has been employed for thirty (30) working days.
(d) Temporary employment of a Contract Nurse may be extended on a temporary basis for a specified period by mutual agreement of the parties to this Agreement.
(e) Contract Employees hired after the date of ratification will be entitled to receive the Health and Welfare Benefits prescribed in Articles 14.03 to
Regular Part-Time Nurse. A Nurse hired for a period of three (3) months or more in a position regularly scheduled to work at least 30 hours a pay period but less than 60 hours a pay period.
Regular Part-Time Nurse. The Regular Part-Time nurse must be available to be scheduled by the Hospital twelve (12) calendar months of the year minus his/her number of weeks of vacation time off entitlement pursuant to Article 16.06 subject to Article H, Xxxxxx H.02 and Xxxxxx X.03 and his/her commitment will include the following conditions:
i) Three (3) weekends worked in six (6) weeks save and except where vacation is scheduled as per E.05 (b);
ii) Two (2) eight (8) or ten (10) hour tours per week or three (3) twelve (12) hour tours per pay period. For this purpose a week is defined as being from Saturday to Friday. No nurse shall be scheduled to work day tour only. A nurse must be available for evening or night tours of duty. However, a preference for regular evening or night tours is acceptable to the Hospital.
iii) May be required to work up to three (3) days at either the Christmas or the New Year's season;
iv) Work a minimum of three (3) recognized Holiday weekends during the year exclusive of Christmas and New Year's.
Regular Part-Time Nurse. Nurses who work on a regular work schedule of specific hours and days of the week which is less than the full normal work week for their department.
Regular Part-Time Nurse i) The date for determining vacation entitlement in each year shall be January 1st. Regular part-time nurses will be notified of their entitlement for the current calendar year by January 15th. Each regular part-time nurse shall be entitled to vacation with pay on a pro rata basis to that of a full-time nurse (of equivalent length of service pursuant to Article 11.01 (a) based on length of service with the Elgin-St. Xxxxxx Health Unit as of January 1st in each year.) For example, a full-time nurse under 11.01(a) iii) with 13 years of service receives 23 days with pay; therefore, a regular part-time nurse who is determined to be a “.5” FTE (full-time equivalent) nurse with 13 years of service would receive 11.5 days with pay. Using a further example, a regular part-time nurse with the same service who is determined to be a “.8” FTE (full-time equivalent) nurse with 13 years of service would receive 18.4 days with pay.
ii) If a regular part-time nurse should change her status during the calendar year (e.g. “.5” FTE to “.8” FTE), a pro rata adjustment will be made as of the effective date of the change.
Regular Part-Time Nurse. Part-time nurses are defined as nurses who are regularly scheduled to work a maximum of twenty- eight (28) hours per week over any three consecutive month period. Part-time nurses may apply to become full-time nurses when there is an Employer designated full-time job opening. Any full-time nurse position will be filled pursuant to Article 6.06. The total number of regularly scheduled part-time nurses shall at no time exceed forty percent (40%) of the total number of regularly scheduled nurses within the bargaining unit.

(c) Subject to government legislation, in the event of hiring, termination, resignation, change of status due to a transfer, unpaid leaves of absence, long term disability, retirement and lay-offs (i.e. when lay-offs are expected to be in excess of 30 days and then such 30 days will not be included in any paid vacation monies owing), the paid vacation owing to nurses will be determined and based on a pro-rated calculation using the qualifying period for the nurse’s vacation (i.e. the period between January 1st to December 31st). Any paid vacation owing will be prorated based upon completed days worked in proportion to the full number of working days in the year and the nurse’s entitlement (e.g. 20 days). If the employee leaves the employer, prior to earning vacation already taken during the year, such employee must reimburse the employer for unearned vacation.
