DAY OFF IN LIEU. 15:2.1 When any of the above holidays fall on a regular employee’s normal day of rest or during a regular employee’s annual vacation, and no other day is declared in substitution thereof, the regular employee shall receive a day off in lieu of the holiday at their regular daily rate of pay, such day to be determined by mutual agreement between the regular employee and their Supervisor but not later than the conclusion of the regular employee’s annual vacation.
15:2.2 Should one of the above holidays fall on a school‐term employee’s normal day of rest they shall receive a day off in lieu of the holiday at their daily rate of pay.
DAY OFF IN LIEU. For employees working a regular work week schedule, if a recognized holiday falls on a full-time employee's scheduled day off, a day off in lieu will be provided before or after the recognized holiday.
DAY OFF IN LIEU. The above-mentioned day off in lieu of a holiday may be taken sixty (60) calendar days following the holiday. If the day off in lieu of a holiday is not taken within the period specified, the employee shall be paid one (1) extra day’s pay at the regular classification rate of pay. Where requested and possible, the day off in lieu of a holiday shall follow or precede the employee’s days of rest. Employee requests for a specified day off shall not be unreasonably denied.
DAY OFF IN LIEU. 39.4.1 A rostered full time employee who is rostered off on a public holiday will be granted a day’s leave in lieu of the public holiday, within one month if practicable, together with a credit of 7 hours 36 minutes. Where it is not practicable to grant the day’s leave, the employee will be paid for the hours credited.
39.4.2 A part time employee who does not ordinarily work on a day on which a public holiday falls will be credited with 1/10 of their agreed fortnightly hours as leave in lieu of the public holiday. By mutual agreement, hours credited in this way may be accumulated and taken later as extra leave, including if necessary in conjunction with annual leave. Where it is not practicable to grant the extra leave, the employee will be paid for the hours credited.
39.4.3 In the case of an employee whose ordinary hours are confined to Monday to Friday, this clause does not apply when a public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday.
DAY OFF IN LIEU. When any of the above holidays fall on a normal day of rest or during an Employee's annual vacation, and no other day is declared in substitution thereof, Employees shall receive a day off in lieu of the holiday at their regular rate of pay, such day to be determined by mutual agreement between the Employee and his supervisor. During specified term layoffs and shutdowns, Employees shall continue to hold seniority rights, receive pay for any general holiday, and welfare plan coverage; payments for Union dues and welfare plans will be made by the Employer and recovered from a subsequent pay cheque.
DAY OFF IN LIEU. An employee who is entitled to a General Holiday with pay which occurs on a normal working day for the employee shall be paid for the day. If the entitled employee works on the General Holiday, the entitled employee shall be given another day off in lieu with pay. As well, the entitled employee shall be paid for hours worked on the General Holiday at the rate of one and one-half times (1-1/2x) the employee's basic rate; if the day involved is Christmas Day or New Year's Day, the pay shall be at the rate of two times (2x) the employee's basic rate of pay. The Employer shall post a list of Statutory Holidays and alternate days taken on each bulletin board.
DAY OFF IN LIEU. When any of the General Holidays fall on an employee's scheduled day off, or is observed during the employee's annual vacation, or falls on a day when school is in session for teachers, the employee shall receive another day off with pay in lieu, at the employee's rate of pay, on a date to be determined by the Board after consultation with the Union.
DAY OFF IN LIEU. If a statutory or public holiday should fall on a non-working day, the Board declares that, if the holiday falls on a Saturday, the Friday immediately preceding the holiday will be observed in lieu of the holiday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, the Monday immediately following the holiday shall be observed in lieu of the holiday. Should the Provincial Government choose another day, then that date shall be observed.

(a) Regular employees covered by this Agreement who have completed one (1) to four (4) years of service will be granted three (3) weeks vacation with pay or six percent (6%) of gross earnings, whichever is greater. Employees with less than one (1) year service shall be paid four percent (4%) of the total wages for the part of the year he was employed.
(b) Employees with five (5) to nine (9) years continuous service shall receive four (4) weeks vacation with pay.
DAY OFF IN LIEU. Regular employees shall have their days off in lieu scheduled during vacation selection.
