Safeguarding Children and Young People. The RCGP/NSPCC Safeguarding Children Toolkit for General practice Royal College of General Practitioners Child Safeguarding Toolkit Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) FGM is a form of child abuse and violence against women and girls, and therefore should be dealt with as part of existing child and adult protection structures, policies and procedures. Further details regarding FGM can be found in the Government Multi-Agency Practice Guidelines for FGM. Child Sexual Exploitation Information may be shared under this agreement for the following purposes: • To facilitate best practice to provide a more integrated and coordinated approach to identified victims of Child Sexual Exploitation • To inform multi agency actions to prevent abuse occurring, disrupt perpetrator activity and secure evidence to support prosecutions, this may involve sharing intelligence gathered through the course of routine work, for example if a cohort of young people or vulnerable adults are found to have similar sexually transmitted infections or professionals involved are concerned about relationships in an area that could be potentially coercive. In adopting this partnership approach partners will work together to identify, support and safeguard children and young people and vulnerable adults who are vulnerable to sexual exploitation from those who are intent on abusing them. You will be required to: • Familiarise yourself with all policies, procedures, and work practices of YMCA South Australia. • Maintain currency of knowledge in relation to work health and safety. • Take responsibility for your own health and safety and the safety of the work environment. • Ensure that your actions and omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons. • Comply with all reasonable instructions in relation to work health and safety, including YMCA South Australia’s policies and procedures as amended from time to time. • Assist YMCA South Australia to provide an inclusive workplace by adhering to YMCA South Australia’s Access and Inclusion Policy and applicable equal opportunity laws as amended from time to time. • Inform your manager of any issues or concerns that may affect your ability to perform your role safely. Safeguarding Children and Young People. (i) The “Consultant” acknowledges that has received a copy of, and has read and understood, Plan International’s Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy and supporting and briefing materials describing Plan International’s commitment to child and youth safeguarding (the ‘Safeguarding Policy’). (ii) The Consultant shall (and shall ensure that any sub-contractor or sub-grantee of it in relation to this Agreement (the ‘Relevant Party’) shall) at all times and in all circumstances abide by the Safeguarding Policy during the term of this agreement. (iii) The Consultant represents and warrants that neither it nor any Relevant Party nor any of its or their directors, employees or consultants has been involved or is suspected or has ever been suspected of involvement in an incident of abuse of a child or young person, whether as described in the Safeguarding Policy or otherwise in such a way that compromises or compromised the safety of a child or young person. (iv) If at any time during the term of this agreement, it comes to the attention of the Consultant or any Relevant Party that the Consultant or any Relevant Party has been involved or is suspected or has ever been suspected of involvement in an incident of abuse of a child or young person, whether as described in the Safeguarding Policy or otherwise in such a way that compromises or compromised the safety of a child or young person, then: (a) the Consultant shall immediately (and at the latest within 12 hours of becoming aware) report such incident or suspicion to its contact at Plan as specified in this Agreement; and (b) the Consultant shall immediately remove any Relevant Party or person to whom the report relates from any work or contractual relationship with Plan International. (v) Any breach of this clause and/or the Safeguarding Policy shall constitute a material breach of this Agreement and shall entitle Plan International (in its sole and absolute discretion) to terminate this Agreement immediately and without notice and to take such other appropriate action as Plan International shall in its sole and absolute discretion determine, including (but without limitation) requesting the removal of any relevant party or any of the Consultant’s or any Relevant Party’s directors, employees or consultants from any work or contractual relationship with Plan; reporting any incident to the police or other appropriate child or youth protection body; or instituting legal proceedings for damages against the ...
Safeguarding Children and Young People. 15.1 The Service Provider warrants that at all times for the purposes of this Contract it has no reason to believe that any person who is or will be employed or engaged by the Service Provider in the provision of the Services is barred from the activity in accordance with the provisions of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 and any regulations made thereunder, as amended from time to time. 15.2 The Service Provider must ensure its staff are familiar with and comply with the Kent and Medway Safeguarding Children Procedures (currently found via xxxx://xxx.xxxx.xxx.xx/Files/Procedures/Medway and Kent Safeguarding Procedures.pdf), and know how to report any concerns. 15.3 The Service Provider is required to comply with all Kent County Council current procedures in relation to Safeguarding Looked After Children, Children in Need and Children in Need of Protection. 15.4 This will include a duty to provide in individual case alerts and notifications, as appropriate, for any cases that require scrutiny by Child Protection Co-ordinators, Looked After Children Co-ordinators or are subject to a Serious Case Review by the Kent Safeguarding Children’s Board. 15.5 The Service Provider will need to ensure that its senior managers and Staff are familiar with and maintain up to date records of all Kent County Council’s policies and procedures which relate to the safe delivery of this service. 15.6 In the case of children and young people under the age of 18, if there is any suspicion of abuse the Service Provider must immediately report this to the relevant Specialist Children’s Services district office or the Kent Social Services Out of Hours Service, so that Child Protection procedures can be implemented. 15.7 The Service Provider and its Staff must ensure that any issues of Child Protection concerns are referred to Specialist Children’s Services, including any concerns involving an unborn child. The Service Provider must ensure that its Staff are aware of the consultation procedures to follow if they are unsure whether their concerns have reached the threshold of Child Protection concern. 15.8 The Service Provider and its staff will ensure issues of risk are dealt with quickly and appropriately and links made with senior Specialist Children’s Services staff and other appropriate agencies.
