Schedule of Observations a. A minimum of two (2) formal observations shall be conducted. A formal observation shall last a minimum of thirty (30) continuous minutes. There shall be at least three (3) weeks between formal observations. The first formal observation shall be completed by January 15. The second formal observation shall be completed by April 15.
b. Teachers shall not receive a formal observation on a day before or after the following: the administration of standardized testing; a holiday or any break from scheduled school days (excluding weekends); or any approved leave of absence of three (3) or more days.

There shall be at least three (3) weeks between formal observations except where the teacher is out on a leave of absence that prevents the evaluator from completing the observations within the timeframe set forth in this subparagraph.
1) The first formal observation shall be completed no later than January 31. The second formal observation shall be completed no later than April 15.
2) The Board shall perform a minimum of three (3) formal observations during the Evaluation Cycle in any school year in which the Board may wish to declare its intention not to re-employ a teacher under Ohio Revised Code Section 3319.

Except for those teachers/counselors under consideration for non-renewal or those on extended limited contracts in accordance with Section K of this Article, two (2) formal observations shall be conducted to support each evaluation. There shall be at least three (3) weeks , following the post conference, between formal observations for teachers on an improvement plan and at least two (2) weeks, following the post conference, between observations for all other teachers. If after the second formal observation a teacher’s performance is found deficient to the extent that adverse personnel action may result, additional observations may be conducted.

A formal observation shall last a minimum of thirty (30) continuous minutes but no longer than forty-five (45) continuous minutes or one (1) class period, unless the teacher requests a longer period of time. The observation shall not occur over multiple days. There shall be at least ten (10) working days between formal observations. If after the second formal observation a teacher’s/counselor’s performance is found deficient to the extent that adverse personnel action may result, additional observations may be conducted. Observations shall not be conducted the day before or day after a scheduled non-instructional school day unless mutually-agreed upon by the teacher/counselor and evaluator. Counselor observations, including informal observations, shall take place so that no breach of confidentiality occurs. Non-confidential activities may include but not be limited to guidance activities in classroom instruction, instructional small group activities, parent education functions, staff development, child study team meetings and data meetings.
Schedule of Observations. 1. A minimum of 2 formal observations shall be conducted to support each performance assessment. A formal observation shall last a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 60 minutes. If after the second formal observation, a teacher’s performance is found deficient to the extent that adverse personnel action may result, a minimum of 1 additional observation shall be conducted.
2. The evaluator will make every attempt to hold a pre-conference before each formal observation during the first semester of the evaluation cycle.
3. A post-observation conference shall be held after each formal observation and shall be used to inform the teacher if observed instructional practices are aligned with the expectations that are identified in the teacher’s professional growth or improvement plan.
4. A teacher may request a formal observation at any time in addition to those required by this procedure.
A. A walkthrough is a formative written assessment piece that focuses on one or more of the following components:

(1) work week between formal observations. The first observation will occur prior to the end of first semester and the second occurring prior to April 30th, unless mutually agreed upon between the counselor and evaluator. The observation shall not occur the day prior to the following: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring break, or when the employee has had an approved extended absence, including but not limited to maternity/paternity/adoption leave, unless mutually agreed upon.
i. In addition, the evaluator will indicate a counselor performance rating based on the combination of each observation/walkthrough sequence to provide the counselor with timely feedback on his/her performance.
Schedule of Observations i. A minimum of two (2) evaluation cycles shall be conducted to support the Final Summative Evaluation Rating. This will consist of a pre-conference, a formal observation, and a post-conference.
ii. A formal observation shall last a minimum of thirty (30) consecutive minutes. There shall be at least four (4) weeks between formal observations. If after the second formal observation a teacher’s performance is found deficient to the extent that adverse personnel action may result, a third observation cycle will be conducted.
iii. Formal observations will not be scheduled the first or last week of a semester. A member shall not be formally observed the day prior to a holiday, any break from scheduled schooldays (excluding weekends), or within two (2) working days of his/her return when the member has had an extended absence of three (3) or more days.
iv. Teachers will be notified a minimum of five (5) work days prior to a scheduled pre-conference.

A formal observation shall last a minimum of thirty (30) minutes. A teacher shall receive written documentation/feedback after the completion of each formal observation. Such documentation shall be supplied within five (5) school days.
b. If the Board has entered into a limited contract or extended limited contract with the teacher pursuant to Section 3319.11 of the Revised Code, the Board shall perform a minimum of three formal observations during the evaluation cycle in any school year in which the Board may wish to declare its intention not to reemploy the teacher pursuant to ORC 3319.
