School Improvement Committees. The present compliance with P.A. 25 will be continued as modified in the future by the Committee subject to the following:
School Improvement Committees. The Board and the Union believe it is desirable for teachers to continue to have opportunities for meaningful and effective input into building level educational matters. To this end, the principal will develop a draft agenda of each School Improvement Committee meeting at least five (5) school days before the next Committee meeting. The principal shall provide the final agenda to the Committee at least the day before the meeting. Each School Improvement Committee shall consist of the principal and eight teachers. Seven of the teachers will be appointed by the principal and one by the Building Council with a goal of achieving a reasonable cross section of the building staff on the Committee. The Building Council and the principal are encouraged to make their appointments before the close of the previous school term, but in any event the appointments shall be made by no later than the end of the first full week of the new school term. Generally the Committee will meet no more than two times per month, except that either the building principal or the Committee may call additional meetings when appropriate to facilitate completion of the Committee’s work. Minutes of Committee meetings will be taken by a teacher member of the Committee selected by the Committee and submitted at least monthly to the principal for approval and circulation to all teachers in the building. The principal will also report to the Committee at least monthly on the status of projects recommended by the Committee. Committee members will be paid the extra-duty rate set forth in Section 3 of Article XIV for meetings required by the principal to be held before or after the regular teacher workday as provided in Section 3 of Article VI or during the teacher’s duty free lunch period.
School Improvement Committees. The Board agrees to consult with the Association concerning identification of qualified teachers to serve on committees involved in the development of school improvement plans at the elementary, junior and high school pursuant to PA 25 (1990) prior to making any such appointments, provided, however, that if the EA President strongly objects to any such appointments, the President shall provide a list of alternative appointees to be considered.
School Improvement Committees. A. School Improvement Committees shall be formed for each school in the District. Such Committees are for the exchange of ideas concerning the continuing school improvement process at the school, and concerning implementation of an appropriate school improvement plan, including discussion of a school improvement plan mission statement, goals based on student outcomes for all students, curriculum alignment corresponding with these goals, evaluation process, staff development, and building level decision making. The Association will be given a copy of all meeting minutes. Participation on such committees by bargaining unit members is voluntary, but it is expected that sufficient teachers and/or employees will be involved at each school to permit active participation in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the District’s school improvement plan.

School Improvement Committees. 1. Both parties recognize the importance of site-based decision making and accept the concept of participatory management systems that facilitate shared decision-making authority on select issues, joint planning and joint problem solving which focus ultimately on the goals of improving the quality and delivery of educational services and the work environment.
School Improvement Committees. Each building in the district will have a leadership team representative of the staff in the building. The responsibility of the group will be to plan and deliver professional development consistent with Chapter 12 of the Iowa Code. The teams will make recommendations to the Superintendent, or his/her designee, concerning the contents and evaluation of the professional development opportunities. Any recommendation shall be subject to approval of the Superintendent or his/her designee. The Superintendent or his/her designee may establish additional school improvement subcommittees responsible for professional development and school improvement efforts under Chapter 12 to assist in the planning and delivery of professional development to staff. All paid school improvement positions shall be appointed on a yearly basis and given a letter of assignment. The positions shall be paid as defined by Schedule B.

The parties’ support the principle of continuing training of teachers, participation by teachers in professional organizations in the areas of their specialization, leaves for work on advanced degrees or special studies, foreign travel and participation in community educational projects.

  • Quality Improvement VRC shall develop programs designed to improve the quality of care provided by the Radiologists and encourage identification and adoption of best demonstrated processes. Practice and VRC acknowledge that, in connection with such quality improvement activities, it may be necessary to provide VRC with Protected Health Information and Practice and VRC agree to treat such information in accordance with Article 9;
