SELECTION OF VACANCIES. The City shall reassign or prevent the assignment of employees where there is or would be an immediate supervisory/subordinate relationship and the employees have a potential employment conflict of interest due to a parental, spousal or sibling relationship.
SELECTION OF VACANCIES a. When a permanent vacancy occurs which is not due to a lateral classification reassignment, a notice of such vacancy shall be posted on the employee bulletin board at least two (2) weeks before the vacancy is filled. Employees holding permanent status in that classification in which the vacancy arises may request to be reassigned to such vacancy. The Department Head shall give first consideration to those employees making such requests before considering any other persons for the vacancy. If more than one qualified employee requests such vacancy, the assignment shall be based on (1) relative experience and capability in performing the required job function, and (2) relative disruptive effects on the departmental operations and established work schedule. Other considerations may be the employee’s performance, attendance, seniority and disciplinary history.
SELECTION OF VACANCIES. A. A package car area permanently vacated, or newly established area, excluding those areas established during December, shall be posted within five (5) days for five (5) working days, during which time drivers shall be afforded the opportunity to bid such vacated or new areas. A posted vacancy or new area shall include geographical descriptions, including area boundaries, loop designation, current package car size and whether the area is a designated training area. The successful bidder shall be awarded the posted vacancy or new area the Monday following the expiration of the five (5) day post- ing period. If the bid is not awarded as outlined above the case may be referred to the Union and Company Chairpersons of the Western Region Grievance Panel or their designees, who will have the dis- cretion to issue an immediate remedy. A permanent vacancy shall be described as an area that is delivered three (3) days a week for a thirty (30) day period, excluding those extra areas established during peak season. Vacancies created as a result of this bidding procedure shall be posted and bid in accordance with the provisions set forth herein. Within the first (15) days of accepting a new bid package car area a driver may request, and the Company will print and provide to the driver, either the ORION screenshot, a Telematics screenshot, or any successor technology, of each of the first five (5) days worked on all newly awarded bid package car areas as follows: If the driver makes the request on the actual day of any of the first five (5) days, the Company will provide the ORION screenshot. If the driver makes the request for any of the first five (5) days after the actual day has passed, the Company will provide a copy of the Telematics screenshot for each day requested. When a driver’s area is split to the extent of creating an additional new area, the affected driver shall be allowed to select either of these areas, prior to posting the other area for bid. When a driver’s assigned delivery area is permanently changed by fifty percent (50%) or more of its delivery stops, said driver shall have the right to follow the major portion of the original delivery area. When more than one (1) driver’s delivery area is affected, those affected drivers shall be afforded the opportunity amongst themselves to bid the areas affected in accordance with their se- niority. SELECTION OF VACANCIES a. Whenever a vacancy occurs in a particular job assignment of a regular civil service position, and the Department Head or designee, in their discretion, elects to permanently fill said vacancy, employees holding permanent civil service status in the classification allocated to that position, and who are assigned to the particular operation in which the vacancy arises, may request to be reassigned to fill said vacancy. The Department Head shall give first consideration to those employees making such requests before considering any other persons for the vacancy.

  • Notification of Vacancies A laid off employee shall be notified by certified mail of an appropriate vacancy, sent to the employee’s address on file in the office of the Executive Director for Human Resources Management.   • JOB VACANCIES Vacancies or new positions shall be awarded to the senior employee applicant where the employee currently possesses the necessary capabilities to perform the work. Qualifications for the job shall be posted by the Employer, and the posting shall include the shift and number of hours for the position. No employee shall be eligible to bid on a job vacancy or new position until the employee has worked in the employee's existing job for a minimum of one hundred eighty (180) days. The provisions of the preceding sentence shall not apply when employees bid on vacancies or new positions in the employee's same classification. All vacancies shall be bulletined for a minimum of five (5) calendar days, and notice of the same furnished to the Union at the same time. Each Hospital shall develop a system to ensure that only applicants signing the posting during the five calendar day posting period will be considered. Temporary assignments may be made during such posting period only; provided assignments to a new classification may be on a temporary basis for ten (10) days. If a question arises as to the capability of an employee to perform the employee's duties after the above herein procedure has been used, that question, and any other question incidental thereto pertaining to the employee's classification and rate of pay, shall be settled by mutual agreement between the Employer and the Union. If such questions cannot be so settled, they shall be settled by arbitration as provided in Article 2. In filling vacancies or new positions, senior employees in the classification where the vacancy or new position is located shall be given preference. In the event that the vacant or new position cannot be filled with a qualified employee from that classification then qualified applicants from other classifications within the bargaining unit will be considered based on bargaining unit seniority.

  • Application for Vacancies All employees under this Agreement, including those on layoff status, may submit application in writing for any vacancy which is posted pursuant to this Article.

  • Notice of Vacancy The notice for a vacancy shall contain: the job title; the salary range if below the present level 31 (Amherst) or 34 (Boston); a description of the position; the bona fide occupational requirements; the shift (where appropriate); the location; the closing date for applications; and, if the position is grant-funded or contract-funded, the termination date of the position, if known. A copy of the notice shall be provided to the Union.

  • Definition of Vacancy A vacancy shall be defined as a newly created position or a present position that is not filled. A position that is totally eliminated shall not be considered a vacancy.

  • Vacancies Whenever a vacancy in the Board of Trustees shall occur, the remaining Trustees may fill such vacancy by appointing an individual having the qualifications described in this Article by a written instrument signed by a majority of the Trustees then in office or may leave such vacancy unfilled or may reduce the number of Trustees; provided the aggregate number of Trustees after such reduction shall not be less than the minimum number required by Section 2.1 hereof; provided, further, that if the Shareholders of any class or series of Shares are entitled separately to elect one or more Trustees, a majority of the remaining Trustees or the sole remaining Trustee elected by that class or series may fill any vacancy among the number of Trustees elected by that class or series. Any vacancy created by an increase in Trustees may be filled by the appointment of an individual having the qualifications described in this Article made by a written instrument signed by a majority of the Trustees then in office. No vacancy shall operate to annul this Declaration or to revoke any existing agency created pursuant to the terms of this Declaration. Whenever a vacancy in the number of Trustees shall occur, until such vacancy is filled as provided herein, the Trustees in office, regardless of their number, shall have all the powers granted to the Trustees and shall discharge all the duties imposed upon the Trustees by this Declaration.
