SHIFTS HOURS OVERTIME AND WORKING CONDITIONS. 4.1 A shift shall be defined as forty (40) hours comprised of from eight to ten hours per day consecutively totaling forty hours. By mutual agreement, the Employee may work a different schedule provided the total hours shall not exceed forty (40) hours in any scheduled work week. In the event the starting time is changed for temporary purposes or an emergency that arises, the employer does not need to notify the Union if the temporary changes are less than ten (10) days in duration and no more than thirty (30) days accumulated for the year. The Employer will notify the Union if the starting times are changed for any reason other than temporary purposes and if there is any disagreement, it shall be subject to the Grievance Procedure of this Agreement.

  • GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS The District has empowered school communities to make decisions at the school level in return for accountability for results. To maximize the likelihood of success, each school must be permitted to implement programs that meet the needs of its students and community. Through a school-based decision-making process, each school will define the staff working conditions necessary for student success. School leadership teams will create and publish annual “school operational plans” which will outline working conditions of staff in the building. Such operational plans will be subject to the Superintendent’s review and approval.

  • Safe Working Conditions The Employer undertakes to maintain office furniture, equipment, etc., in a practical and safe condition in order to avoid injury to employees or damage to their attire. Employees, for their part and in their own interest, are expected to advise the Employer of any such potentially injurious equipment.

  • Weekend Work (a) Overtime work on Saturday shall be paid for at the rate of time and a half (1.5) for the first two (2) hours and double time thereafter, provided that all overtime worked after 12 noon on Saturday shall be paid for at the rate of double time.

  • Workweek and Workday 1. The normal workweek shall consist of not more than five (5) consecutive days and not more than forty (40) hours per week, Sunday through Saturday. The regular workday shall consist of not more than eight (8) hours per day. Nothing in this Article shall be deemed to restrict the extension of the regular workday or workweek on an overtime basis when such is necessary to carry on the business of the District.

  • Unsafe Working Conditions (a) No Employee shall be disciplined for refusal to work on a job which is deemed unsafe by:

  • Hours Worked For the purpose of computing the number of hours worked, all time during which an employee is in paid status shall be construed as hours worked.
