Stewards’ Committee. The Union may appoint or otherwise select up to forty (40) Stewards.

Stewards’ Committee. The Stewards Committee will consist of the following: Department or Area Number of Stewards 4. Council Representative: A Council Union Representative shall be permitted to enter the Polk County School system upon request to the Superintendent or his designee to investigate any grievance or handle other official Union business.
Stewards’ Committee. 8.01 The Corporation will recognize seven (7) Stewards in each Home, preferably from different sections of the Home. It will also recognize a union committee of Shop Stewards, the Unit Chair and the Vice-President/Local Director. Each Xxxxxxx shall be elected by the employees or appointed by the Union President and each Xxxxxxx shall be an employee of the Corporation who has completed the probation period.
(1) bargaining unit employee from each Home shall be elected or appointed by the Union as Unit Chair and who may be the principal spokesperson for the Union. In the absence of a Shop Xxxxxxx the Unit Chair shall function as a Shop Xxxxxxx.
8.02 The Corporation undertakes to deal with the said Stewards' Committee with respect to any matter which properly arises during the term of this Agreement, e.g. settlement of complaints and grievances.
8.03 The Union will notify the Corporation (annually) in writing of the names of the Stewards. The list may be amended during the year as required. The Corporation will not be required to recognize the Stewards' Committee until it has been notified in writing by the Union of the names of the employees elected.
8.04 The Unit Chair and other Union Stewards will be allowed reasonable time off to carry on Union business only as such business pertains to this agreement. To conduct such business, the Stewards shall obtain permission from their Supervisor (or designate) before leaving their job or work area, and shall notify their Supervisor (or designate) upon their return. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld.
Stewards’ Committee. A. The University recognizes and will deal with stewards for the Union as set forth in this Article. The University will recognize eight (8) stewards from the Police Officers covered by this Agreement. All Stewards must have completed their initial evaluation period, and at least one year of full time Certified Police Officer status with the University.
B. The Union will advise the University in writing of the names of its designated stewards by January 30 of each year. In the event stewards change during the calendar year, the Union will notify the University of such changes within thirty (30) calendar days. Such Notification shall be made to the University of Chicago Labor Relations Director. No Police Officer will be recognized as a Xxxxxxx unless and until the University is advised.
Stewards’ Committee. The Union shall submit, in writing, the names of employees who act as xxxxxxx/committeeperson for the purposes of processing grievances in accordance with the grievance procedure contained herein or preforming other activities authorized by this Agreement. The Employer shall be notified, in writing, within fourteen (14) days of the change of any xxxxxxx or committeeperson of the local Union.
Stewards’ Committee.
A. The University recognizes and will deal with Chapter Representatives for the Union as set forth in this Article. The University will recognize up to two (2) Chapter Representatives from the Dispatchers covered by this Agreement. All Chapter Representatives must have at least one year of full time Dispatcher status with the University.
B. The Union will advise the University in writing of the names of its designated Chapter Representatives by January 30 of each year. In the event Chapter Representatives change during the calendar year, the Union will notify the University of such changes within thirty (30) calendar days. Such Notification will be made to the University of Chicago Employee and Labor Relations Director. No Dispatcher will be recognized as a Chapter Representative unless and until the University is advised.
Stewards’ Committee. (a) The Corporation acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Stewards Committee of three (3) employees to assist employees in presenting their grievances at Step 3 of the Grievance Procedure. This committee shall be comprised of the Chief Xxxxxxx and two (2) additional stewards selected by the Chief Xxxxxxx.
(b) For the purposes of representation under Article 10 (Grievance Committee) there shall be a Chief Xxxxxxx and stewards elected or appointed by the Union, to represent each Building Location on each shift and a Xxxxxxx to represent Building Services as outlined in this article. Before leaving their regular duties the xxxxxxx must obtain prior permission from their supervisor or their designate.
(c) It is understood that the taking of such time away from regular duties shall be kept to a minimum and that permission shall not be unreasonably sought or withheld. If permission is granted, the matter will be dealt within 30 minutes. The Xxxxxxx shall report to their Supervisor or designate immediately upon returning to work.
Stewards’ Committee. Section 18.1 The Employer recognizes the right of the Union to designate from among those employees covered by this Agreement a Unit Xxxxxxx and Union Committee to handle such Union business pertaining to employment conditions at the Employer's place of business and may, from time to time, be delegated to said Shop Xxxxxxx and Shop Committee.
Section 18.2 The Employer agrees to pay employees serving on the Union Committee for time lost for grievances and negotiations. There shall be a limitation of eight committee members with compensation to be based on straight-time hours lost with a maximum of ten (10) negotiation sessions. During contract negotiations, Committee Members will not be required to report for work on the same day that negotiating meetings are held and must have eight (8) hours off prior to the midnight shift.
