Summative Evaluation Conference. By the last teacher work day, the evaluator shall hold a summative evaluation conference to discuss the teacher’s final evaluation rating and identify areas of focus for the following year.

Summative Evaluation Conference. The summative evaluation conference shall be for the purpose of reviewing with the teacher all pertinent evaluative data gathered during the cycle. The evaluator is responsible for completing a summative evaluation report, a copy of which is given to the teacher by March 1st for non- tenured bargaining unit members or by May 1st for tenured bargaining unit members. A summative evaluation conference shall be mutually scheduled between the teacher and the evaluator. The teacher has the right to postpone the summative evaluation conference once to a mutually acceptable date within ten (10) work days. It is the teacher's responsibility to provide the evaluator with any data he or she wishes to be considered in the summative evaluation report, allowing sufficient time for the evaluator's consideration prior to drafting the report. Evaluation of a teacher shall not be based upon any undocumented information or materials which have been received by the evaluator but not been shared with the teacher. At the conclusion of the summative conference, the teacher may, within seven (7) working days, file a written response which would be attached to the summative evaluation report and be included in the teacher's personnel file. All formative and summative evaluation reports and attached teacher comments are placed in the employee's personnel file. This data is confidential.
Summative Evaluation Conference. An annual Summative Evaluation Conference occurs no later than May 15th of the school year with the school and student performance as a projected score subject to final data. At this conference, the teacher and the evaluator (principal or assistant principal) will review performance and feedback for the year. Summative Evaluation Conference a. After completion of the required observations and any required remediation and/or probation procedure, the evaluator shall complete a final evaluation. It will include a rating for each criterion, a student growth rating, and an overall summative performance rating. b. The administrator and employee shall meet to discuss the employee’s summative score. The summative score, including the student growth score, must be determined by an analysis of evidence and artifacts. This analysis will assess the employee’s performance over the course of the year or the period covered by the evaluation. c. The employee and administrator are expected to collaborate in providing evidence and artifacts as needed for each criterion to be scored. d. Clear and sufficient evidence/artifacts for each criterion scored must be present. Documented communication to the employee over the course of the year, based upon the appropriate rubric(s) that indicates a lack of evidence or artifacts may serve as an acceptable source of documentation. e. The employee will sign two (2) copies of the Final Summative Evaluation Report. The signature of the employee does not, however, necessarily imply that the employee agrees with its contents. f. Employees shall have the right to attach additional comments or a rebuttal to the Final Summative Evaluation.

The goal(s) for the Professional Growth Plan should emerge from the teacher’s self-assessment of the domains, components and elements of the Framework for Professional Practice (pages 4- 34). Likewise, the goal(s) should reflect building and/or district goals that result in the continuous improvement of student learning. The goals must be directly linked to the Framework for Professional Practice through the completion of the Professional Growth Plan on page 54. Additional guidelines for goal setting are provided in Appendix A (pages 69-71). In the Track II process, teachers are encouraged to work in a way that best matches the goal(s) they establish for their Professional Growth Plan. They can work individually or with their grade-level colleagues, their department colleagues, or any other combination of faculty members. Teachers are encouraged to use a variety of activities, strategies, resources, and professional development to accomplish their goal(s) and to choose specific indicators of progress to measure their successful accomplishment of the goal(s). These components are outlined on the Professional Growth Plan (page 54).

Summative Evaluation Conference. The evaluation cycle will be completed by a summative evaluation conference. During the summative evaluation conference, the qualified evaluator and employee will review the written summative evaluation document, which will include the overall performance rating. The employee and qualified evaluator shall both sign and receive a copy of the summative evaluation. In no case shall the employee’s signature be construed to mean that he/she agrees with the contents of the evaluation but only that the evaluation has been discussed. The signed written summative evaluation shall be filed in the employee’s personnel file in the district office and a duplicate of that report shall be made available to the employee. If the employee has an objection to the written summative evaluation, the employee is encouraged to put his/her objections to the evaluation in writing and have them attached to the official copy of the written evaluation within five (5) school days following the summative evaluation conference. The immediate administrator will sign the employee’s written rebuttal acknowledging receipt and provide the employee a signed copy.
Summative Evaluation Conference. A formal meeting scheduled for the unit member and the evaluator for the purpose of evaluating progress toward achievement of standards and establishing the evaluator’s recommendations.
