Temporary Assignment Outside the Bargaining Unit. (a) An employee who accepts a temporary assignment outside of the bargaining unit in the Administrative and Educational Support Personnel group will retain all seniority and shall continue to accumulate seniority while in that position. (b) Upon completion of the temporary assignment, the employee will be reassigned in accordance with Articles 17.18 (d) and 17.18 (e).
Temporary Assignment Outside the Bargaining Unit. Effective on signing of collective agreement, if an employee is assigned to fulfil the majority of duties of a Supervisor during a period of absence in excess of one (1) day, and where such assignment would otherwise have been required as per established work schedules, the employee shall receive an allowance of three dollars and fifteen cents ($3.15) for each shift from the time of assignment. If the above assignment is for more than five (5) consecutive working days, the employee will receive a rate within the Supervisor's scale that is at least $ .50/hour above the employee's own rate of pay, retroactive from the start of the assignment. (The Supervisor's annual salary will be divided by 1950 working hours to determine applicable hourly rate). Assignments of supervisory duties shall not be divided to avoid payment of this clause.
Temporary Assignment Outside the Bargaining Unit. Employees who accept a temporary assignment to a position outside of the bargaining unit designated to last six (6) months or less will retain all rights under this Agreement during the term of the temporary assignment, and will return to their original position at the end of the temporary assignment; provided that if an employee’s original position is affected by a reduction in force during the term of a temporary assignment, the employee will be permitted to exercise those options provided by Section 14.3 (Reduction-in Force) at the conclusion of the temporary assignment. Nothing in this paragraph will be interpreted to alter the bargaining unit or the positions included within it.

Temporary Assignment Outside the Bargaining Unit. 16.1 The Employer shall give the Society prior notice of any Employee who is temporarily assigned to a position that is outside the bargaining unit, along with a rationale for the temporary assignment. 16.2 Employees being offered an opportunity to work in a temporary assignment that is outside the bargaining unit must agree to accept such assignment and shall not be forced. 16.3 An Employee who accepted a temporary assignment that is outside the bargaining unit shall only retain rights and privileges under Article 15 of the Collective Agreement for twenty four (24) months. Any extensions must have mutual agreement of the Society Representative, the Employee and the Employer. Union dues shall be deducted as per Article 9, based on the Employee’s earnings of bargaining unit base position. 16.4 An Employee returning to the bargaining Unit shall be reinstated to the position they formerly occupied at the rate of pay they would have received if they were not temporarily assigned outside the bargaining unit. 16.5 An Employee who has agreed to accept a temporary assignment that is outside the bargaining unit shall continue to accrue seniority for the as agreed per Article 16.3.

Upon completion of the temporary assignment, the employee will be reassigned in accordance with Articles and The Board will advise Principals that it is expected that Teachers with Educational Assistants assigned to assist them will have paid time allocated (preferably during the first day in September) to discuss their assignments and the students involved. This is not to be considered as a guarantee of the continuance of this, or any professional activity day. One of the objectives of this meeting is to discuss the scheduled time that may be required to provide joint planning between the Teacher and the Educational Assistant. A part-time employee whose hours of work are determined by the secretarial complement formula must accept all additional hours offered as a result of an increase in enrolment or a staffing formula change. If there Is more than one eligible employee the additional hours will offered to the most senior eligible employee and if declined the time will then be offered progressively to the least senior eligible employee who must accept the additional hours. Temporary Assignment Outside the Bargaining Unit. Any nurse who temporarily takes a supervisory or managerial position for any reason shall have their seniority frozen at the time of exit to the supervisory or managerial position. Upon return, if such return is within one (1) year, unless a longer duration is mutually agreed by the Union and the Employer, such seniority will be reinstated and accumulation of seniority will again commence. Union dues shall not be deducted for any month the nurse is outside the bargaining unit and the nurse will not be covered by the Collective Agreement during their temporary assignment.
Temporary Assignment Outside the Bargaining Unit. The employee affected by sub-paragraph 3 of clause 1.01 of the National Provisions is also governed by the provisions of this Collective Agreement.
