Temporary Heat. Where the supply of temporary heat is necessary and the use of the permanent equipment is involved prior to the completion of the general test and acceptance of the system by the Owner or their agent, only Building Trade members of the Union shall be allowed to operate the system.

Temporary Heat. A. If temporary heat is required for the protection of the Work, provide and install suitable heating apparatus, provide adequate and proper fuel, and shall maintain heat as required. B. Temporary heating apparatus shall be installed and operated in such manner that finished work will not be damaged.

Heating and Cooling: Provide temporary heating and cooling required by construction activities in order to maintain ventilation and temperature in the human comfort zone at public and staff areas. Temporary Heat. 6.22.1 The CONTRACTOR shall provide heat, fuel and services as necessary to protect all work and materials, within all habitable areas of permanent building construction, for all contracts against injury from dampness and cold until final acceptance of all work and materials for the Project, unless building is fully occupied by the CITY prior to such acceptance, in which case the CITY shall assume all expenses of heating from date of full occupancy. Unless otherwise specifically permitted by Special Conditions, the permanent heating system shall not be used to provide temporary heat. CONTRACTOR'S proposed methods of heating shall be submitted for approval.
Temporary Heat. 1. All boilers or any mechanical heating and cooling equipment for temporary heat or cooling are to be fired or maintained by journeymen employees covered by this Agreement. There shall be three (3) shifts of eight (8) hours in each twenty-four (24) hour day, seven (7) days a week. The rate of pay for all work performed under this Article between the hours 12:01 A.M. on Monday and 12:00 midnight Friday shall be at the regular hourly rate as set forth in Article XVIII (page 19). The rate of pay for work performed between the hours of 12:01 A.M. Saturday and 12:00 midnight Sunday and all holidays observed under the terms of the Agreement shall be 1½ times the regular hourly wage rate. No journeymen shall quit firing a boiler or maintain any equipment until a satisfactory substitution has been made. Journeymen must fire and maintain boilers and equipment until final acceptance of the job by owner and final release has been signed by Employer and journeyman notified that said job has been turned over and accepted. This section shall not apply to domestic work. All other temporary heat and cooling where steam or hot water is used regardless of source of supply shall be maintained by journeymen employees of the Employer. During the standby periods of temporary heating and cooling, the Employer shall assign work to be performed where practical. Where less than three (3) shifts are required, premium time must be paid for all time before the normal starting time as defined in Article III, Section 2 (page 2) and for Saturdays, Sundays, and all other holidays in accordance with Article IV, Section 1 (page 3). All temporary air and water shall be manned entirely by Journeyman members of Local 322 on all work except: Commercial, Institutional, Public Buildings, Recreational, Residential or Domestic. All Temporary piping shall be installed by journeymen covered by this Agreement.

Temporary Heat. Whenever during the period of construction, and prior to acceptance of the systems by an Owner, operation of a boiler at 15 pounds or less steam pressure or 30 pounds or less water pressure, and of 5000 square feet E.D.R. or more of S.B.I. gross steam rating, is required for temporary heating purposes, the operation and maintenance of said boiler shall be performed by Steamfitters. When automatic operation is possible with permanent control and safety devices installed, operation and maintenance shall be only that time actually required to meet manufacturer’s required maintenance schedules. If periodic inspection or intermittent operation of the boiler is required by the employer, such operation will be performed by Steamfitters. If alarm points are connected to a central monitoring panel, all service calls shall be made using Steamfitters at rates in keeping with those set out elsewhere within this Agreement.
Temporary Heat. If temporary heat is maintained with gas heat in a permanently closed-in building, or part thereof, when the heat is being used in that building, or that part thereof, then a plumber shall be required during such maintenance and he must be employed for the first seven (7) day week for seven (7) pay hours per day. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays an eight (8) hour pay day is required (four (4) hours at overtime). Thereafter he shall work consecutive days as long as required. On plumbers regular working days, the hours will be 7:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. which is equal to a seven (7) hour pay day. During a twenty-four (24) hour period with the heat turned on, only one shift of the employment of a plumber is required. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the four (4) working hours during the shift may be mutually agreed upon at the job. If temporary heat is stopped for any reason, all piping and equipment must be removed immediately by Journeyman plumbers. Sheet lead work used in roofing, gutters, valleys, flashing in x xxxxxxxxxx with Metal Workers’ connection with roofing, and ducts m direct ventilation system shall be the work of the International Association. All other sheet lead work, including roof flashings, in connection with plumbing, shall be the work of the plumbers, members of the United Association of Journeymen Plumbers and Steamfitters.
