Union Funds. 18.01 The Employer shall contribute to the Union’s Education and Assistance Fund the amount identified at Schedule “A” for each hour worked by each employee covered by this Agreement, and shall remit such contributions to the Union together with union dues, and in the manner described at Article 7.04. 18.02 The Education and Assistance Fund shall be used by the Union to educate and instruct members in the competent practice of their trade, in matters relating to Health and Safety, and to instruct specific members in effective labour relations practices. 18.03 Having regard to the demands of the Employer’s work and operations, the Employer will cooperate with the Union when safety and related courses are made available to the members employed with the Employer. 18.04 The Employer shall contribute to the Union’s Construction Industry Development and Promotion Fund (the “Industry Fund”) the amount identified at Schedule “A” for each hour worked by each employee covered by this Agreement, and it shall remit such contributions to the Union together with union dues, and in the manner described at Article 7.04. 18.05 The Industry Fund is used to promote the CLAC model of open shop unionized construction representation. This is achieved by industry development among for and with owners and purchasers of construction services, by advocating at municipal and provincial government, by representing open shop union principles at industry conferences and events, and by advising the union leaders, including staff and stewards of opportunities and means to promote the CLAC model. The Industry Fund is used as determined by the union to strengthen the position of the Union, its members and contractors. 18.06 The Industry Fund shall not be used to fund a grievance or other legal proceedings against any contactor signatory to CLAC or its affiliated local unions.

Union Funds. The Employer and the Union have jointly agreed to establish and administer an Education and Assistance Fund and an Industry Fund.

Union Funds. Payment of all Union funds and benefit funds shall be made on the proper remittance form and in a manner described in the Appendix for the Jurisdictional Area concerned. Union Funds. The Employer agrees to deduct Union Funds from wages and to remit the amounts deducted to the Union. The amounts to be deducted and remitted will be as set out in the wage schedules attached hereto. 1102 The Union will have no later than April 20th of each calendar year to provide the breakdown of dues, pension, welfare and benefits to EPSCA. The parties will then have no later than 60 calendar days to review, approve, and implement the wage schedules and new collective agreement. The effective date for such changes shall be retroactive to May 1st of that year. If no approval is received by the accredited Union representative, within the timelines above the Association shall approve the wage schedule and shall apply any negotiated increase to the base wage. The Union will only be able to make changes in the next available window per the collective agreement.
Union Funds. Effective September 30, 2016, the Company will no longer make remittance to the Health, Safety, and Industrial Relations Training Fund (“HSIRTF”). Effective October 1, 2016, the Company will remit 5 cents ($0.05) for each full time employee’s regular hours of work to Paid Education Leave (“PEL”). The Union commits to maintain the principles and governance established with the HSIRTF for administration and reporting of the PEL activities to the company. Effective October 1, 2016, the Company will remit 3 cents ($0.03) for each full time employee’s regular hours of work to the Canadian Community Fund (“CCF”). This program will be used by UNIFOR for humanity, philanthropic and charitable issues in Canada. The Company and the Union will annually agree on a list of charitable organizations that the parties will submit to the fund for consideration. The Union agrees to annually provide a report of CCF projects in-progress or completed locally the prior year.
