OPEN SHOP. Membership in the Union is not compulsory. Employees may join or not, maintain, or resign membership in the Union at their sole discretion. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed to require that any employee of the Department join the Union as a condition of being hired or retained in employment. Employees who are not members of the Union shall not be required to pay dues to the Union. Neither the Union nor the Commission shall discriminate in favor of, or against, any employee by reason of membership or non-membership in the Union. The wages and benefits provided under this Agreement shall apply to all employees.

OPEN SHOP. The Employer agrees to deduct dues from the salary of each individual employee in the bargaining unit who voluntarily becomes a member or who voluntarily authorizes the payment of representation fees.
OPEN SHOP. Unit members have the right to join the Association, but membership in the Association shall not be required as a condition of employment.

  • Union Shop 2.01 The Employer agrees to retain in its employ, within the bargaining unit as outlined in Section 1 of this Agreement, only members of the Union in good standing. The Employer shall be free to hire new employees who are not members of the Union, provided said non-members, whether part- or full-time employees, shall be eligible for membership in the Union and shall make application within ten (10) days after employment and become members within thirty (30) days.
