Uses of Seniority. 9.6.1 Classification seniority shall be used in granting bargaining unit members preference in days off, shift preference, starting time, holiday leave, and annual leave. For the purposes of this Article, preference shall mean choice of available time off. All days off, annual leave, and holiday leave shall be as requested by the employee subject to adequate coverage which shall not be applied arbitrarily.
Uses of Seniority. Seniority shall have application to the following terms and conditions of employment:
Uses of Seniority. Seniority shall be taken into account in the treatment of employees covered by this Agreement insofar as the conditions of the business and the abilities of the employees permit.
Uses of Seniority. Except as otherwise set forth in this agreement, the employer and the Union agree to recognize seniority in the following areas; how- ever, qualification and ability to perform the required work shall be the determining factor.
(a) Lay-off and recall according to Employee's length of service of their re- spective job classification;
(b) Scheduling PTO, consistent with established PTO procedures;
(c) Offering and/or requiring overtime, except that servers will be allowed to complete guest service in their respective station;
(d) Promotion or transfer to different classification job opening between equally qualified in-house applicants.
Uses of Seniority. The Employer and the Union agree to recognize seniority in the following areas; however, ability to perform the required work shall be the determining factor.
a) Lay-off and recall according to employee's length of service of their respective job classification;
b) Scheduling vacations;
c) Offering and/or requiring overtime, except that servers will be allowed to complete guest service in their respective station;
d) Filling job openings;
e) Preference of holidays; provided employees regularly scheduled to work the day on which a holiday falls may not be involuntarily bumped out of their shift;
f) Scheduling of the workweek and shifts;
g) Promotion or transfer to different classification job opening using overall house seniority.
Uses of Seniority. Seniority will be exercised in accordance with this Agreement for job openings, work hours, building selection, lay off and recall.
Uses of Seniority. Employees may use their seniority to bid on vacant positions, to exercise recall rights, to bid on shift schedules, schedule vacations, or to bump other employees to avoid layoff.
Uses of Seniority. Seniority shall be considered in detennining permanent job assignments, the order of layoff, and the order of names on the re-employment list. The employee with the least seniority shall be laid off first. In recall, the employee with the most seniority shall be recalled first.
Uses of Seniority. An Employee's seniority date shall be used in determining for scheduling, filling vacancies (job bidding, in conjunction with Article 21), and reduction in force, in conjunction with Article 22. Seniority date shall be used in granting holiday and vacations when multiple employees of the same department or unit request the same dates. When filing vacancies or job bidding within a department and two (2) or more Employees have the same seniority date, the most qualified Employee will be selected to fill the position.
Uses of Seniority. 1. Bargaining Unit Seniority" within each rank shall be used for the purposes of selecting Annual Leave (see annual leave article).
