Vacation Assignments. A. Vacations in accordance with the provisions of Section 1 may be taken at any time, subject to service requirements, during the calendar year. Vacations shall be scheduled five (5) consecutive days and may be scheduled for two (2), three (3), or four (4) consecutive weeks. Vacations should be scheduled to begin on the first working day of the week. Although vacation normally will be taken in segments of one week, an employee may take vacation in increments of one- half day, a day or more at a time where service requirements permit, as determined by management.

Vacation Assignments. Al l vacations will be granted by the Company District among employees who perform essentially the same type of work, in accordance with the desires of the employees in the order of their seniority, but the Company may allocate vacations to insure orderly operations, to maintain adequate and continuous service to the public. Employees absent because of personal illness on their last scheduled work day before vacation, whose illness continues to the first day of vacation to the extent that they cannot start their vacation or return to work, will, upon request, be permitted to reschedule. The vacation schedule shall be posted by November 1 and all vacations shall be selected by January 1. For employees who desire to select their vacation in segments of one (1) week or more such employees shall use their seniority to select the first segment of such vacation. Thereafter, they shall use their seniority to select the rest of their vacation or another segment thereof after all other employees in their selection group have selected their vacations or first segment thereof. The process shall continue until all vacations have been selected. Employees who transfer from one classification to another shall be entitled to take the vacation previously selected in the old classification if they desire to do so. When an employee transfers from a job classification after having selected a future vacation period, or periods, the period or periods thereby vacated shall be made available to other employees remaining in the classification, as an alternative to the period or periods they may have previously selected. "Essentially the same type work," as used above, means all employees in a job classification as identified in Appendix A. For all vacation groups no less than one (1) employee will be permitted to be on vacation at any one time; however, if there are ten (10) or more employees in the vacation group two (2) employees will be permitted to be on vacation at any one time, except that two employees in the same vacation group who work at a satellite location may not be off at the same time. Vacation Assignments. A. Insofar as service requirements permit, vacations may be taken at any time during the calendar year with as many vacation periods being made available during the desirable periods of the year as is consistent with service requirements. Not later than November 1st of the preceding year, the Company shall post a statement showing the available periods within which vacations may be taken and the number of vacations available for each period, for the following year.
Vacation Assignments. All vacation dates are to be approved in advance by the supervisor and/or Superintendent. It is recommended that vacation time be used on non-school days. Effort shall be made to approve vacation time on school days that are convenient for both the employee and workable for the school.

For an employee electing to take his/her vacation in segments, he/she shall be entitled to exercise preference for only one segment until all other employees who have expressed preference for their vacation or the first segment have been assigned or have been passed over because their preference was not available. A segment of vacation is a continuous period of vacation (in full week increments beginning with Sunday of the first week and ending with Saturday of the last week) with no work time between the beginning and end of such vacation period. Employees who have not made a vacation selection by December 15 may be assigned any of the remaining available periods. During the selection period an employee who has made a selection will not be allowed to change that selection. Insofar as service requirements permit, an employee shall be assigned the vacation period of his/her choice. The “order of seniority” as used in this section shall be determined by the employee’s seniority on January 1 of the vacation year.   • Non-Assignment PROVIDER shall neither assign its rights nor delegate its duties under this Agreement without the prior written consent of A&M System.

  • Work Assignments Section 1. The Company shall determine whether to staff a position or fill a vacancy and the method or combination of methods it shall use for such purposes. In making this determination, the Company shall first give consideration to qualified laid off employees with applications on file in accordance with Article 14 Section 7 of this Agreement and then internal candidates prior to off-street applicants. All vacancies within the Bargaining Unit shall be posted (manually or electronically) in locations where Bargaining Unit employees regularly work. The posting shall include the title, wage range, and sufficient information regarding requirements and duties to adequately describe the vacancy. The vacancy shall remain posted for seven (7) calendar days which shall be spread between two (2) workweeks.

  • Modification; Assignment No amendment or other modification, rescission, release, or assignment of any part of this Agreement shall be effective except pursuant to a written agreement subscribed by the duly authorized representatives of the parties hereto.

  • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.

  • SPECIAL TEACHING ASSIGNMENTS A. Assignments for the Adult Education, Driver Education and Summer School Program will be made by the Board on the basis of preference to teachers possessing permanent teaching certificates regularly employed in the district during the normal school year.

  • Overtime Assignment A. In institutional settings when the Agency determines that overtime is necessary, overtime shall be offered on a rotating basis, to the qualified employees who usually work the shift where the opportunity occurs. If no qualified employees on the shift desire to work the overtime, it will be offered on a rotating basis first to the qualified employee with the most state seniority at the work site. When there are no volunteers to work the overtime as outlined above, and/or where an emergency exists, reasonable overtime hours may be required by the Agency. Such overtime shall be assigned, on a rotating basis, first to the qualified employee with the least state seniority at the work site. This policy shall not apply to overtime work which is specific to a particular employee’s claim load or specialized work assignment or when the incumbent is required to finish a work assignment.

  • Teaching Assignments No employee shall be assigned to teach in a grade level and/or subject area not within the scope of his/her teaching certificate, except where a position within his/her certification is unavailable or when mutually agreed to by the affected employee and principal, or when determined necessary by the principal. Employees assigned to positions outside the scope of their certificates shall be assigned as soon as possible to positions for which they hold certification.

  • DELEGATION, ASSIGNMENT AND SUBCONTRACTS A. CONTRACTOR may not delegate the obligations hereunder, either in whole or in part, without prior written consent of COUNTY. CONTRACTOR shall provide written notification of CONTRACTOR’s intent to delegate the obligations hereunder, either in whole or part, to ADMINISTRATOR not less than sixty (60) calendar days prior to the effective date of the delegation. Any attempted assignment or delegation in derogation of this paragraph shall be void.
