Wellness Initiatives. Human Resources will continue to develop and offer various programs to promote employee exercise and stress reduction on a town-wide basis.

Wellness Initiatives. The Employer and the Union share a mutual interest in researching best practices in cost containment features and the benefits that ensure quality but also address increasing costs. To achieve these ends, there will be a benefits subgroup of the Conference Committee. The Union will appoint up to a total of five (5) representatives from the represented bargaining units including one (1) organizer. The Employer will appoint up to five (5) Management representatives including up to two (2) HR representatives. The subgroup shall be advisory and shall begin by within ninety (90) days of the date of ratification. The subgroup will meet monthl y, for up to 90 minutes per meeting, through the sixth (6th) month following the date of the first meeting. After the sixth month, wellness will become a regular topic on the Conference Committee agenda. All representatives in the subgroup will be on paid release time for the meetings. The Employer and the Union agree to engage in a fully transparent process of information sharing that will lead to stronger engagement and overall success. The subgroup will also explore wellness best practices, hospital wellness participation data and to make recommendations for program improvements to management and the Union. If the subgroup develops any mutually agreed upon recommendation for changes, the Union and management shall, upon the request of either party, use the Conference Committee to review the recommendations. In performing its work, the subgroup will concentrate its efforts on: a. Understanding bargaining unit employee utilization

Wellness Initiatives. 6.2.1 DBC and the GNWT recognize that the health and wellness of individuals and families is fundamental to the social and economic sustainability of communities. 6.2.2 In order to promote a healthy and stable workforce, DBC will assist employees living in the NWT to perform well in their jobs and help them to address potential effects of the Gahcho Kué Project by working with the GNWT to address issues of individual and family wellness as follows: a. designate a DBC representative as the principal liaison to the GNWT H&SS for Project related health and wellness initiatives who, while ensuring confidentiality regarding Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and employee participation in those programs, will provide information and meet twice annually with the GNWT H&SS designated liaison to review the following: i. the services offered by DBC under its EAP; ii. a list of alternative services and programs that DBC has been made aware of by Aboriginal communities or others and that DBC has informed its EAP Service provider about to enable the inclusion of culturally sensitive services for DBC employees and their families; iii. EAP utilization data and the utilization made of each service; iv. the programs and plans supported in NWT Communities by DBC and initiatives planned in the year ahead to address issues of wellness for its employees; v. a summary of the programs and plans supported in communities in the Local Study Area, as well as initiatives planned for the year ahead to address issues of wellness for its employees; and vi. initiatives focusing on outcomes relevant to clauses 6.2.2 (b, c, d, e, f and g). b. support initiatives and resources for addressing alcohol and substance abuse problems for DBC employees; c. collaborate with the GNWT H&SS regarding initiatives being undertaken by DBC or the GNWT with Aboriginal Authorities or NWT communities from which De Beers is drawing its employees to address substance abuse issues with the aim of improving the health and wellness of NWT Residents; d. collaborate with the GNWT H&SS designated liaison to ensure effective and recognized substance abuse, family violence and domestic abuse programs are made available for Gahcho Kué Project employees; e. carry out ongoing prevention and awareness programs on-site and collaborate with the GNWT H&SS designated liaison and, where available with trained alcohol and substance abuse, family violence and domestic abuse counselors, to ensure ongoing prevention and awareness ...

Wellness Initiatives. 6.1.1 DBCMI recognizes that the health and wellness of individuals and families is fundamental to the social and economic sustainability of Primary Communities. 6.1.2 In order to promote a healthy and stable workforce, DBCMI will assist employees in performing well in their jobs and careers and help communities address potential effects of the Project by working with the Parties to address issues of individual and family wellness as follows: a. supporting initiatives and resources in the Primary Communities for addressing alcohol and substance abuse problems; b. seeking partnerships to ensure effective and recognized substance abuse, family violence and domestic abuse programs are made available for community members and Project employees; c. carrying out ongoing prevention and awareness programs on-site and collaborating or partnering with social services agencies and where available, with trained alcohol and substance abuse, family violence and domestic abuse counsellors, to ensure ongoing prevention and awareness program delivery in the Primary Communities; d. collaborating and partnering with social service agencies in the Primary Communities to provide ongoing family counselling services (which may include, for example, family and relationship counselling, stress management, anger management, support services for women and single mothers, child care services, and parenting training) in the Primary Communities for mine employees and their immediate family; e. providing on-site information regarding the existence of support services available in the Primary Communities to encourage full use of such services while off-site; and f. collaborating with agencies and counsellors that deliver addiction treatment programs, to enable individuals who have completed those programs to participate in DBCMI pre-employment and employment training. 6.1.3 In addition to participating in the initiatives in clause 6.1.2, DBCMI will: a. staff at least two full time community liaison personnel, one of whom is preferably fluent in Chipewyan, one of whom is preferably fluent in Dogrib and both of whom are preferably members of the Aboriginal Authorities; b. provide money management training in each of the Primary Communities for employees and their spouses and make this training mandatory within the first six months for all newly hired employees; c. seek collaboration with recognized financial institutions to establish Internet and telephone based banking services in the Prim...

  • Training Programs All employees shall successfully complete all necessary training prior to being assigned work (e.g., all employees will complete health and safety training prior to being assigned to task).   • Outreach Activities a. The Agency shall conduct outreach activities for potential Clients to promote the availability of services. b. Outreach activities shall include, but are not limited to, participation in health fairs, community events, collaboration with other providers, and the posting of flyers for potential Clients. c. The Agency shall have an outreach plan and shall provide evidence of such arrangements to the Recipient upon request.
