INFORMATION TO EMPLOYEES. In the initial correspondence with an individual regarding potential employment in the bargaining unit, the appropriate department shall include a one-page statement about the Union, prepared by the Union at its own expense, provided that the statement is first forwarded to the Executive Director, Human Resources and is not determined to be factually incorrect or inflammatory. If the Executive Director, Human Resources does not forward any suggested changes within two weeks of receiving the statement, the information shall be presumed to be acceptable.
INFORMATION TO EMPLOYEES.
10.01 There shall be only one (1) employee personnel file per employee to be held in the Human Resources Section. Upon request by an employee to the Human Resources Section, the Employer shall allow the employee to view their personnel file and provide them with a copy of any document on the file requested by the employee. For employees outside of the National Capital Region, the Employer shall present a copy of the file as certified by a Human Resources employee and a Unifor 2025 representative, if requested, in a secure and confidential manner.
10.02 The Employer will provide annually, no later than June 30th, each employee with a statement of the employee’s leave credits and contribution to PSAC Pension Plan. Effective 2003, the Employer will annually provide each employee with a statement of their leave credits no later than March 31st.
10.03 The Employer shall provide each employee in the bargaining unit with a signed copy of this Collective Agreement within two weeks of receipt of this Collective Agreement from the printer. This collective agreement will be printed in 14-point Arial.
10.04 The Employer shall provide to each new employee, at the time of hire, a copy of this collective agreement, the Union website address and the Internal Training Plan and guide in effect at the time.
10.05 The collective agreement shall be provided to employees in an alternative format of choice in compliance with Article 11.
INFORMATION TO EMPLOYEES. Annually, the State will provide all bargaining unit employees with information relating to their vacation, sick leave, CTO balances, and their retirement contributions and interest. The State agrees to determine if the Controller can produce statements on other benefits; however, the actual production and distribution of such reports is dependent on the developmental cost and the Controller's priorities.

A searchable electronic copy shall be provided to each new employee at the email address provided by the employee. The collective agreement will be posted on the University’s Human Resources & Equity website in a searchable format and a link to said website will be provided to all employees in the bargaining unit. The University will provide the Union with a searchable electronic copy and two hundred and fifty (250) printed copies of the agreement. The Employer agrees to provide each hiring unit employing members of the bargaining unit with five (5) printed copies, per agreement year.
INFORMATION TO EMPLOYEES. The Employer agrees to inform all new employees that a Union Agreement is in effect. The hiring Department shall provide to all employees a one-page (letter-size, single or double-sided) statement about the Union, prepared by the Union, provided that the statement is first forwarded to the Executive Director, Labour Relations (or designate) for information and approval as to its factual accuracy. If the Executive Director, Labour Relations (or designate) does not provide notification of errors or inaccuracies to the Union within two (2) weeks of receiving the statement, the information shall be presumed to be acceptable. The statement shall be provided at or prior to the start of duties. UTEMP agrees to inform all new employees that a Union Agreement is in effect and shall provide all employees with this letter at the time they receive their first assignment.
INFORMATION TO EMPLOYEES. 8:01 The Employer agrees to inform all applicants, prospective members of the bargaining unit and new employees that a Collective Agreement is in effect. The Collective Agreement will be posted in a searchable format on the University’s website and a link to said website will be included in all Letters of Offer. The Employer agrees to provide copies of any new Agreement to all employees. A searchable electronic copy shall be provided to the employee at the email address provided by the employee. The Collective Agreement will be posted on the Employer’s Human Resources website in a searchable format and a link to said website will be provided to all employees in the bargaining unit in their employment contracts. The University will provide the Union with a searchable electronic copy of the Collective Agreement.
8:02 The Employer shall provide to all employees an electronic copy of a one-page (letter-size, possibly double-sided) statement about the Union, prepared by the Union, provided that the statement is first forwarded to the Manager of Human Resources (or their designate) for information and for approval as to its factual accuracy. If the Manager of Human Resources (or designate) does not provide notification of errors or inaccuracies to the Union within two (2) weeks of receiving the statement, the information shall be presumed to be acceptable. The letter shall be provided preferably at or prior to the time the employee receives their written job offer of an appointment in this bargaining unit, but in any event, no later than the earlier of the start of duties or receipt of a Description of Duties and Allocation of Hours form. (See Appendix A).
8:03 The parties agree that the following language shall be included in letters of offer to employees: For Sessional Lecturers and Writing Instructors: As part of the terms of your employment you may be entitled to a Health Care Spending Account (HCSA). The amount for the HCSA will depend on the number of hours of the appointment. Please find a comprehensive Benefit Packages (i.e. Introductory Memo, Enrolment Form, FAQ) enclosed for your information. The HCSA can be used in addition to any coverage you currently enjoy. For Teaching Assistants and Undergraduate Tutors: As part of the terms of your employment you may be entitled to Plan A (HCSA-Only Green Shield Plan) or Plan B (Green Shield Top-Up Plan). INFORMATION TO EMPLOYEES. The Employer shall provide information needed by employees to understand fully the reduction-in-force and how and why they are affected. The Employer shall provide equitable treatment for all employees and make every reasonable effort to retain status employees during a reduction-in-force.
INFORMATION TO EMPLOYEES. Upon hire into any position within the bargaining unit, the District shall provide information to the unit member concerning CHI/CTA/NEA’s status as exclusive representative and a weblink to this Agreement.
