Release from Contract. An employee under contract shall be released from the obligations of the contract upon request under the following conditions:

a. A letter of resignation must be submitted to the Superintendent's office.
b. If the letter of resignation is received on or before June 30 the release shall be granted.
c. A release from contract shall be granted in case of illness or other personal matters which make it impossible for the employee to continue in the District.
d. Releases from contract not covered in items 2 or 3 above will be granted, if in the Superintendent's judgment, an acceptable replacement can be found.
Release from Contract. An employee under contract shall be released from the obligation of the contract upon request under the following conditions:
a. A letter of resignation must be submitted to Human Resources with a copy to the employee’s immediate supervisor.
b. A release from contract prior to July 1 shall be granted provided a letter of resignation is submitted prior to that date.
c. A release from contract after July 1 shall be granted provided a satisfactory replacement can be obtained.
d. A release from contract shall be granted upon the employee’s request in case of illness as verified in writing by the employee’s physician.
Release from Contract. When a teacher asks to be released from a contract with the district, the Board’s first obligation is to the children in the district. If a suitable replacement can be found and it is felt that the educational program of the school will not be impaired, a teacher may be released from the obligations of a contract providing the teacher pays for the liquidated damages at the time such request is made. Accrued sick leave or unpaid compensation or other compensation against the $1,500 liquated damages will be applied to the amount owed to the district for early release. In the event said release from contract is granted after May 15 and prior to July 1, said teacher shall pay a sum of $500 toward expenses involved in securing a satisfactory replacement. In the event said release from contract is granted July 1 or after, said teacher shall pay a sum of $1,500 toward expenses involved in securing a satisfactory replacement. Applicable payment toward expenses shall accompany the request for release from contract.
Release from Contract. The district may issue individual staff contracts prior to the end of the school year, but the teacher shall be granted release from an individual contract if a request is made prior to July 10. Requests made subsequent to July 10 may be granted by the Board of Trustees. Professional Improvement of Education (P.I.E.): A program of Professional Improvement of Education hereafter known as P.I.E. will provide teachers with the opportunity, time and resources to participate in their own and their colleagues’ professional growth. P.I.E. will allow teachers the opportunity to share and to learn from an experienced colleague, and will provide support and collegiality by allowing them to observe other classrooms or education settings or to request assistance from a colleague. Participation in P.I.E. is voluntary on the part of all participants and is confidential between the parties involved. It shall in no way become part of an ongoing evaluation. The building principal and the Association representative shall make all employees aware of the P.I.E. program and the request process at the beginning of each school year.
Release from Contract. Except in the cases listed below, this contract is binding for one academic year. A resident may be released from this contract for the following reasons: part-time status, marriage, absence from campus due to a College-approved program (for example, internship or student-teaching outside St. Mary’s County or study abroad), leave of absence, mid-year graduation, transfer, withdrawal, failure to register for at least 12 credits for new students by August 15 (for fall) or December 1 (for spring), or unusual circumstances. To be released from the contract, a resident must submit a timely written request to the Office of Residence Life, to be reviewed by a special committee or designated administrator who will render a decision regarding release from this contract. The deadline for such request from new students for release for the fall semester will be June 1. The deadline for such request for such release for the spring semester will be November 1. If a resident submits a late request, he or she will be deemed in breach of this contract. If a resident files a late request that is after the deadline but by July 1 (fall) or December 1 (spring), the student will be charged ten percent (10%) of the assigned housing rate for the type of housing assigned for that semester. If the request is filed after July 1 (fall) or December 1 (spring) but before classes begin, the student will be charged twenty percent (20%) of the assigned housing rate for the type of housing assigned for that semester. If a student is academically dismissed prior to the start of the fall semester, the housing deposit will be refunded. If a student is dismissed at any other time, cancels his or her registration and housing, or decides to transfer, withdraw, or take a leave of absence, the charges and deadlines noted above will be enforced. Students who elect to move off-campus without prior written approval from the Office of Residence Life or who notify the College after classes begin that they will not be living on campus will be financially liable for the full amount of the semester’s housing fee.
Release from Contract. Teachers can only be released from their contracts upon approval of the Board of Directors. A teacher under contract shall be released from the obligations of the contract upon request under the following conditions:
1. A letter of resignation must be submitted to the Superintendent's office.
2. A release from contract, prior to July 1, shall be granted provided a letter of resignation is submitted prior to that date.
3. A release from contract may be granted after July 1, provided a satisfactory replacement can be obtained.
4. A release from contract may be granted upon the teacher's request in case of illness or other personal matters which make it impossible for the teacher to continue in the District.
Release from Contract. Employees shall be released from a signed contract provided a letter of request for release is submitted to the Superintendent (via the principal) prior to July 1. After that date, an employee shall be released from the contract provided a satisfactory replacement is available.
Release from Contract. Any contract may be terminated at any time by mutual consent. Any request for release from contract by a teacher other than the superintendent shall be submitted in writing and directed to the superintendent. Prior to June 1 of each year, a tenure teacher will be released from contract under conditions set forth in the Missouri Teacher Tenure Act. Prior to June 1 for a non-tenure teacher under contract and after May 31 for any teacher, the Board of Education's attitude shall generally be one of disapproval for requests of release unless it is for one of the following reasons:
A. Health -- Any request for a release of contract based upon the health of the teacher shall require a certificate by a physician that continued employment will be detrimental to the person's health.
B. Transfer of Spouse -- If a teacher's spouse receives a transfer from the geographical area, the Board of Education may grant a release.
C. Promotion -- If a teacher obtains an administrative position in another district, resulting in a substantial increase in responsibility, the Board of Education may grant a release.
D. Other Reasons -- Recognizing that the teacher's contract is a legal document which binds both the teacher and the Board of Education, the Board of Education's attitude shall generally be one of disapproval for requests of release from contract for reasons other than health, transfer of spouse, or promotion. The Board of Education will at all times hold the welfare of the students paramount during the consideration and deliberation of requests for release.
Release from Contract. Licensed professionals, when submitting a letter of resignation after the required licensed professional notification date established by State statute, will be released by the Cooperative from contractual obligations provided the following fees are attached to said letter: Resignation Received in the Special Education Office After the Required Licensed Professional Notification Date, Established by State Statute 1 – 15 calendar days $1,000.00 16 – 30 calendar days $2,000.00 Resignations submitted on or after 31 calendar days from the mandatory notification date, established by State statute, will be accepted only if a suitable replacement can be found and are subject to a fee of $3,000.00. The Board of Directors reserves the right to waive the above listed requirements. The licensed professional may reduce their paycheck, after taxes, upon completing a written request by the licensed professional on a Board and Association approved form for payment of the above listed fee.
