Accrual of Vacation Credit. Employees shall start to accumulate vacation credit upon completion of their pro- bationary period, retroactive to their date of employment. Vacation days may not be taken during the first six (6) months of employment unless otherwise mutually agreed. Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Employer an employee shall not accrue va- cation leave for any pay period during which they are on layoff nor shall an employee accrue vacation leave while they are on an unpaid leave of absence. Accrual of vacation credit shall also be subject to the provisions of Section 22.13.
Accrual of Vacation Credit. Unit employees accrue vacation credit on a monthly basis based on established criteria. Vacation credit for each month is accrued and reported at the end of the month, except that terminating employees eligible to accrue vacation credit accrue proportionate credit through the last day on pay status. Any career employee eligible to accrue vacation may be granted an advance of vacation leave of up to forty (40) hours to cover unusual circumstances with the approval of the Associate Director for Facilities and Infrastructure or the Security Director. Such vacation leave advance is granted only when the employee does not have sick leave or vacation credits to cover the absence.

In addition, calendar year employees shall be entitled to an additional day of vacation leave for each of the following holidays on which the employee is required to work: New Year's Day Columbus Day Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Day Election Day Lincoln's Birthday Veteran's Day Washington's Birthday Thanksgiving Day Memorial Day Friday after Thanksgiving Independence Day Christmas Labor Day If a listed holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the previous Friday or the following Monday, respectively, shall be observed as the holiday, provided, however, that if such celebrated Friday or Monday is a scheduled student school day, then such day will be credited as an additional vacation day to the employee who is required to work on such day.

Accrual of vacation credit shall also be subject to the provisions of Section 22.13. Employees of the Sheriff’s Department will earn vacation hours on the first day of each month.

However, only the terminal paychecks (including unused vacation) of those employees who have reached the age of fifty-five (55) shall be placed into the Plan. These terminal paychecks shall be placed into the Plan on a pre-tax basis in accordance with the Plan, all applicable laws and all rules and regulations applicable to the Plan.

  • Vacation Leave Accrual ‌ After a full-time employee has been in pay status for eighty (80) non-overtime hours in a calendar month, the employee will accrue vacation leave according to the rate schedule below. Vacation leave accrual for part-time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours the part-time employee is in pay status during the month to that required for full-time employment.

  • Vacation Payout Where an employee requests in writing to have a specific number of vacation days paid out, and the Employer agrees to the request, the Employer will issue pay in lieu of vacation. Pay in lieu of vacation, if agreed, will be granted only after a minimum of 15 days' vacation time has already been taken in the year.
