Sick Leave Advancement. A new member of the bargaining unit with no accumulated sick leave shall be advanced the equivalent in hours of five (5) days sick leave as needed without loss of pay. A current employee who has exhausted all sick leave shall be advanced the equivalent in hours of five (5) days without loss of pay. This advance of sick leave days shall be charged against any subsequently accumulated sick leave. If the member of the bargaining unit fails to return to work to repay the advanced days, the amount advanced shall be deducted from any severance or salary due the employee.
Sick Leave Advancement. Each new full-time member of the bargaining unit shall be advanced five (5) days of sick leave credit at the beginning of the school year. If illness requires the employee to use the full amount of credit before four (4) months of service have been completed, such member of the bargaining unit may not be lawfully advanced additional sick leave credit. The five-day advance is to be deducted from the future accumulation of sick leave credit the member of the bargaining unit earns on the basis of completed months of service under provisions of the uniform sick leave law. Sick Leave Advancement. The Board will advance, upon the request of a bargaining unit member new to the District with no accrued sick leave, up to five (5) sick days to be deducted from the bargaining unit member’s future accumulation providing that the teacher will earn enough sick days within the existing school year to repay the advanced number of days. Nothing herein shall be considered to create an expectation that unpaid leave will be granted to any bargaining unit member who has exhausted all sick leave and advancements nor is the Board in any way limited from taking appropriate disciplinary actions for any unauthorized absence without approved leave.
Sick Leave Advancement. Up to 5 days of sick leave may be advanced one (1) time to a teacher after one (1) day of duty during the length of the negotiated agreement
Sick Leave Advancement. A. Advancement of sick leave must be requested in writing by the employee and must be approved by the Fire Board. Application for advanced sick leave must be supported by a medical certificate signed by a physician or other practitioner. All available accumulated sick leave and annual leave must be exhausted prior to advancement of sick leave.
B. Advanced sick leave credit should not exceed an amount which it is reasonably assured will be subsequently earned. Repayment for advanced sick leave is required if the employee terminates service for his/her own convenience prior to earning and repaying advanced credits. Repayment for advanced sick leave is not required when separation is due to death or disability for which an acceptable medical certificate is received.

An officer with insufficient accumulated sick leave may, upon request to the Chief of Police, be advanced sick leave from five (5) to a maximum of thirty (30) days per calendar year. An officer so advanced sick leave shall be required to pay back such sick leave equal to the amount advanced during the subsequent course of his City employment. Reimbursement may be accomplished, in whole or in part, by the officer voluntarily turning over vacation, compensatory or personal days to credit the sick leave advancement. Reimbursement for sick leave advancement shall not be taken into consideration for purposes of determining the number of sick days used per year or the eligibility for the applicable sick leave bonus. An officer who fails to pay back the sick leave advancement or whose employment by or with the Department ceases for whatever reason, shall be required to reimburse the Department for such sick leave not paid back and the Employer may have the appropriate amount deducted from the officer’s pay.
Sick Leave Advancement. On September 15 of each school year, members who have accumulated sick leave of less than five (5) days shall be advanced that number of days necessary to bring the accumulation to five (5) days. These advanced days shall be charged against the sick leave the employee subsequently accumulates under this Article. If an employee leaves the District prior to all advanced sick leave days having been repaid, the dollar value of such days shall be subtracted from the employee’s final paycheck, and if any balance is still due to the District the employee shall pay such balance to the District.
Sick Leave Advancement. In the event an employee has utilized all available sick leave benefits, at the discretion of the Employer, advancement of up to eighty (80) hours may be provided. Advancement shall consider, among other factors, the employees' seniority and work history. Upon the employee's return to work, sick leave benefits will not accrue until the amount of advancement has been paid back.
Sick Leave Advancement. If a member has exhausted all of their accumulated sick leave, the Board shall advance the member a maximum of five (5) days sick leave, which shall be paid back to the Board upon future accrual by the employee. This advancement is only available once per school year.
