The Payment for Sick Leave clause establishes an employee's right to receive compensation during periods when they are unable to work due to illness or injury. Typically, this clause outlines the conditions under which sick leave is granted, the rate of pay during such leave, and any documentation required to qualify for payment, such as a doctor's note. Payment for Sick Leave. An Employee granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay and the number of days thus paid shall be deducted from the Employee’s accumulated sick leave credits up to the total amount of the Employee’s accumulated credits at the time sick leave commenced.

Each eligible employee who has used five (5) days or less of sick leave during the preceding calendar year may elect to receive pay for twenty-five percent (25%) of the sick leave earned during the preceding calendar year less the amount of such leave used during the same period. Any employee who retires from City service other than for disability reasons shall be entitled to receive pay for sixty-five percent (65%) of the member's accumulated sick leave at the effective date of the member's retirement. If an employee dies while on the City's payroll, the member's estate shall receive the above - 65% cash out of the member's sick leave balance. Cash buyout of sick leave shall be computed at the officer’s regular, straight-time, base rate of pay including any applicable longevity and/or educational incentive premiums.
Payment for Sick Leave beyond the employee's cumulative sick leave credit shall be at the discretion of the Company.
Payment for Sick Leave. Conversion of sick leave to cash is not permitted and accrued sick leave is not payable upon termination. If a holiday or administrative leave falls during the time an employee is on sick leave, the holiday or administrative leave is charged as a holiday and not as sick leave.

(1) Any employee covered by this Agreement who has completed twenty (20) years of service with the Urbana Fire Department including time spent on the University of Illinois Fire Department or who has retired as a result of a disability, shall upon retirement or resignation from the department receive payment for accumulated sick leave in an amount equal to fifty percent (50%) of the accrual, such payment to be made on the basis of the employee's hourly rate of pay at the time of such honorable separation. In the event of a death of an employee while in the employment of the City, the provisions of this section shall be paid to his/her estate.
(2) Each employee with a minimum sick leave balance of 750 hours may cash out, at 50 percent rate, up to twenty four (24) hours of sick leave above the minimum balance for each calendar year quarter where no sick time is utilized.

Non-exempt employees will be paid their “normal hourly compensation” for each hour of paid sick leave used. “Normal hourly compensation” is the hourly rate that an employee would have earned for time during which the employee used paid sick leave. Employees are not eligible for any cash out of unused, accrued sick leave upon their separation of service from the City.

Payment for Sick Leave. A. Upon retirement, resignation, termination, or death, Unified School District No. 333 will pay the certified staff member or his/her estate for accumulated unused sick leave at the rate of $20.00 per day (maximum amount of $1,800). Upon retirement or resignation, the certified staff member will notify the Board of Education by May 15th. Payment shall be made to the certified staff member by June 30th if his/her contract ends on the last school day in May; otherwise, he/she will be paid within sixty (60) days. In the case of the death of the certified staff member, payment will be made to his/her estate within sixty (60) days.
Payment for Sick Leave. An employee entitled to the benefit of sick leave privileges will be paid at the prevailing straight time rate not to exceed eight (8) hours pay for each day, forty (40) hours pay for each week. (Except for the "first day" exclusion provided for in Appendix B, Sick Leave Control Policy).
