Benefits for Regular Part-Time Employees. (a) A Regular Part-Time Employee who occupies a position with a regular schedule of core hours each week equal to or greater than twenty (20) hours shall receive the following benefits: (1) a payment of ten percent (10%) of regular earnings in lieu of vacation and public holiday pay; (2) Medical, Extended Health, Group Life and Dental on the same basis as full-time employees except the eligibility periods shall be calendar months; the Employer shall pay their contractual portion of the premiums for Extended Health, Group Life, and Dental, and the employee shall pay 100% of the premium for Medical; (3) Disability Plan and gratuity coverage on a prorated basis (calculated on the same proportionate basis as the Regular Part-Time Employee's weekly schedule of core hours bears to the normal hours for a regular full- time employee); Regular Part-Time Employees shall qualify after the same eligibility period applicable to full-time employees except it shall be calendar months for Regular Part-Time Employees; and (4) WCB coverage on an approximate net pay basis after completion of six

Benefits for Regular Part-Time Employees. 13.1. Benefits for regular part-time employees will be administered as provided for in the Personnel Manual, as it may hereafter be amended or revised, and such other policies or executive orders as may be applicable. Health benefits for regular part-time employees will be prorated in the same manner as sick leave and vacation accrual set out in the Personnel Manual as amended or hereafter revised.

(b) Where a Regular Part-Time Employee's core hours are increased such that the employee qualifies for the benefits in paragraph 4(a) above, the employee's current service (calculated as straight time hours paid) shall count towards the benefit eligibility periods. Where a Regular Part-Time Employee's core hours are reduced such that the employee no longer qualifies for the benefits in paragraph 4(a) above the benefit coverage will cease at the end of the month in which the hours are reduced and the employee shall be paid a percentage in lieu of benefits pursuant to paragraph 4(c) below commencing on the first of the month following the expiry of the benefit coverage. (c) All Regular Part-Time Employees not covered by paragraph 4(a) above, shall be paid an amount equal to twelve percent (12%) of their regular earnings. Upon actually working twelve hundred (1200) hours in two (2) consecutive calendar years, such employees shall have their pay in lieu of all benefits increased to sixteen percent (16%) of their regular earnings. Such premium payments shall be considered in lieu of all employee benefits, including those providing for time off with pay.
Benefits for Regular Part-Time Employees. Benefits for Regular Part-time Employees covered by this Collective Agreement will be limited to those specifically provided to such Regular Part-time Employees in this Agreement.

The prorata basis is established at the time that the employee is initially designated as a regular part-time employee and does not change unless the Employer changes the number of hours in their regular schedule on a permanent basis. A listing of the regular part-time employees and the number of hours in their regular schedules for proration purposes and a listing of irregular part time road patrol deputies shall be provided by the employer, no more than twice per calendar year.
