Bidding and Award Phase. 5.1 After receipt of District’s written authorization to proceed with the Bidding phase, Consultant shall assist the District in administering the bidding and award of the construction contract. This shall include: 5.1.1 Assisting the District Construction Manager in soliciting interest from potential bidders for the project. 5.1.2 Responding to inquiries pertaining to the Plans and Specifications. 5.1.3 Consult with District concerning, and determine the acceptability of, substitute materials and equipment proposed by bidders. 5.1.4 Prepare written addenda as appropriate to interpret, clarify or expand the bidding documents, including allowable substitutions of materials and equipment, as requested by the District or to respond to bidder requests. 5.1.5 Attend the bid opening and assist District in evaluating bids or proposals and in assembling and awarding contracts for construction, materials, equipment and services, as requested by the District.
Bidding and Award Phase. A.2.6.1 Following the Owner’s approval of the Construction Documents and the latest estimate of Construction Cost, the DP shall assist the owner, if necessary, in technically evaluating proposals from contractors and, if necessary, assisting the Owner in the preparation of construction contracts. The DP shall perform these services in accordance with the Project Schedule as shown in Exhibit D. A.2.6.2 Prior to issuing the bidding documents, the DP shall assist the Owner in establishing a price for which each set of bidding documents shall be sold to prospective bidders. The DP shall calculate the estimated cost for printing, binding and shipping and for the DP’s labor costs to distribute and monitor the issuance of the documents. The DP’s labor costs shall be based on direct personnel expenses as defined. The Owner may establish a price which is less than the estimated cost. Neither the Owner nor the DP shall make any profit from the sale of bidding documents.
Bidding and Award Phase. .1 At this stage the Construction Manager assumes the leadership responsibility for the project team. Upon obtaining all necessary approvals of the Construction Documents including a Building Permit as required by the FBC and Owner approval of the latest Statement of Probable Construction Cost, the Construction Manager shall obtain bids and commence awarding construction contracts. The Owner will have the drawings and specifications printed for bidding purposes, either through its open Agreements with printing firms or as a reimbursable service through the Project Consultant, or as set forth in Article 26.03.08 in the General Conditions of this CM Agreement. .2 The Construction Manager shall review the Owners records of pre-qualified contractors, including Minority/Women Business Enterprises (M/WBEs), and prepare a list of those recommended for work pursuant to this contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all subcontractors recommended for approval. The Construction Manager shall maintain a list of all potential bidders, including M/WBEs and those who are approved as pre-qualified. .3 The Construction Manager shall prepare and issue the bid packages to cover the scope of the Work for this contract. .4 The Construction Manager, in coordination with the Owner, shall schedule pre-bid conferences as required and issue a written summary of the conference(s).
