Class Size and Teaching Load. 1. No bargaining unit member shall be required to teach a split grade for more than one (1) year in a row. 2. In the area of K-6 classes there shall be no more than twenty-five (25) students. For the purposes of this Section "pupil" includes special education students mainstreamed into the regular classroom for more than half of the school day. Bargaining unit members in K-6 classes having more than twenty-five (25) students will be compensated at the rate of one hundred and ninety dollars ($190) per student per semester. Payment will be based on the end of the semester enrollment. Class size excess payment will be paid twice per year (first pay to be paid with the first regular paycheck in February, and the last to be paid with the last regular paycheck in June). The teacher affected is responsible for submitting a request for pay on a standard form developed by the Association and approved by the District Treasurer. 3. Every attempt shall be made to eliminate or reduce all extra duty (homeroom, bus duty, recess duty, etc.) and/or provide additional planning time for bargaining unit members who have the following teaching situations: a. Split grades K-6. b. Departmentalized 5-12 classes with more than six (6) classes, or one hundred and fifty (150) students, or more than four (4) preparations. 4. Priority for teacher aid assistance, if available, shall be given to bargaining unit members in the teaching situations listed above.

Class Size and Teaching Load. 1. A timely effort will be made to balance and achieve equality in class size and teacher workload within grade level and/or subject area within each building. 2. The number of pupils assigned to any unit or classroom by the Administration shall not exceed the capacity of the teaching facilities. If either the Association or a Teaching Staff Member believes that there is an imbalance or overload in either an individual class size, or the total teaching load of a Teaching Staff Member, the following procedure will be used: a. The Association shall refer the problem in writing to the Building Principal for resolution. b. If the alleged imbalance or overload is not resolved, the Association shall refer the problem to the Superintendent or his designee for resolution. c. The Superintendent's resolution of the alleged imbalance or overload is final.

Because pupil- teacher ratio is an important aspect of an effective educational program, the parties agree that efforts should be made to provide the optimum pupil-teacher ratio consistent with the program, physical facilities, research and best educational practices.

The Board and the Johnsburg Teachers' Organization recognize that class size has a direct bearing on effective teaching, and therefore is a key concern throughout the district. Accordingly, the Board agrees that it will make every reasonable effort to establish a reasonable class enrollment for each class. The Administration will thus aim to keep class size limited to 30 students with the exception of P.E. classes in which limits will be set at 45, with the further exception of organized playground P.E. For 6-12 teachers, planning time will be 225 minutes of professional planning time per full five-day week. For teachers in grades 6-12, there will be a daily professional planning time and an additional daily student assistance period (individual student tutoring, laboratory supervision, study hall supervision, parking lot or cafeteria supervision, or other academic support services). C. Any teacher teaching a curriculum-based class that exceeds the standard teaching load at their school by more than 35 minutes per day will qualify to receive the overload stipend. Instructional staff not covered by this provision includes special education teachers, except where such special education teachers actually teach an overload self-contained class, counselors, and learning center directors. K-5 teachers teaching a fifteenth section shall receive one-half of the overload stipend each semester. In situations in which a teacher, who is teaching six (6) separate course preps or more and teaches more than one prep during an individual class period, the teacher shall be compensated at 2% of B-1. The criteria for qualification exclude all independent study situations. D. Teachers without a master’s degree teaching an overload class shall receive a stipend of 8% of Step B-1 for each semester they instruct an overload class. Teachers in xxxx XX or beyond teaching an overload class shall receive a stipend of 8% of Step FG-1 for each semester they instruct an overload class.

In recognition of the fact that the size of classes is a matter of mutual concern to both the Board of Education and the Association, it is agreed that the Association will appoint a committee to deal with this question on a continuing basis jointly with the Superintendent or such person(s) as the Superintendent may designate.   • Class Size a) When CONTRACTOR is a nonpublic school, CONTRACTOR shall ensure that class size shall not exceed a ratio of one teacher per fourteen (14) pupils. Each classroom with 2 or more students shall be assigned at least one paraprofessional. Upon written approval by an authorized XXX representative, class size may be temporarily increased by a ratio of 1 teacher to sixteen (16) pupils when necessary to provide services to pupils with disabilities. For any billing period where the class size has exceeded sixteen (16) students for five consecutive school days, the CONTRACTOR shall have a 10% decrease in its approved daily rate for those LEA students that exceeded sixteen (16), for those days (over five). b) In the event a nonpublic school is unable to fill a vacant teaching position responsible for direct instruction to students, and the vacancy has direct impact on the California Department of Education Certification of that school, the nonpublic school shall develop a plan to assure appropriate coverage of student by first utilizing existing certificated staff. The nonpublic school and the LEA may agree to one 30 school day period per contract year where class size may be increased to assure coverage by an appropriately credentialed teacher. Such an agreement shall be in writing and signed by both parties. This provision does not apply to a nonpublic agency. c) CONTRACTOR providing special education instruction for individuals with exceptional needs between the ages of three and five years, inclusive, shall also comply with the appropriate instructional adult to child ratios pursuant to California Education Code sections 56440 et seq.

  • Provisioning Line Splitting and Splitter Space 3.8.1 The Data LEC, Voice CLEC or BellSouth may provide the splitter. When Southern Telecom or its authorized agent owns the splitter, Line Splitting requires the following: a non-designed analog Loop from the serving wire center to the NID at the End User’s location; a collocation cross connection connecting the Loop to the collocation space; a second collocation cross connection from the collocation space connected to a voice port; the high frequency spectrum line activation, and a splitter. The Loop and port cannot be a Loop and port combination (i.e. UNE-P), but must be individual stand-alone Network Elements. When BellSouth owns the splitter, Line Splitting requires the following: a non designed analog Loop from the serving wire center to the NID at the End User’s location with CFA and splitter port assignments, and a collocation cross connection from the collocation space connected to a voice port. 3.8.2 An unloaded 2-wire copper Loop must serve the End User. The meet point for the Voice CLEC and the Data LEC is the point of termination on the MDF for the Data LEC's cable and pairs. 3.8.3 The foregoing procedures are applicable to migration to Line Splitting Service from a UNE-P arrangement, BellSouth Retail Voice Service, BellSouth High Frequency Spectrum (CO Based) Line Sharing. 3.8.4 For other migration scenarios to line splitting, BellSouth will work cooperatively with CLECs to develop methods and procedures to develop a process whereby a Voice CLEC and a Data LEC may provide services over the same Loop.

  • SPECIALIZED JOB CLASSES Where there is a particular specialized job class in which the pay rate is below the local market value assessment of that job class, the parties may use existing means under the collective agreement to adjust compensation for that job class.

  • Alternate Facilities If under Purchaser’s Operating Schedule, roads needed for the removal of Included Timber differ substantially from Specified Roads, other roads may be added to A7. Contracting Officer shall assure that road routing, location, design, and needed easements will make such other roads acceptable as parts of the National Forest transportation facilities.   • Modification of the Small Generating Facility The Interconnection Customer must receive written authorization from the NYISO and Connecting Transmission Owner before making any change to the Small Generating Facility that may have a material impact on the safety or reliability of the New York State Transmission System or the Distribution System. Such authorization shall not be unreasonably withheld. Modifications shall be done in accordance with Good Utility Practice. If the Interconnection Customer makes such modification without the prior written authorization of the NYISO and Connecting Transmission Owner, the Connecting Transmission Owner shall have the right to temporarily disconnect the Small Generating Facility. If disconnected, the Small Generating Facility will not be reconnected until the unauthorized modifications are authorized or removed.
