TEACHING FACILITIES. 9.1. The Board agrees to maintain health and safety conditions at each school site in compliance with applicable statutes and/or regulations. Teachers shall not be required to work under unsafe or hazardous conditions as determined by proper regulatory authority
9.2. The Board shall continue in their efforts to provide adequate teaching facilities, clean and sanitary restrooms, running water in each building and teachers' lounge at each school site. Teachers shall report concerns of inadequacies to their building principal.
TEACHING FACILITIES. A. The parties recognize that optimum school facilities are desirable to insure the high quality of education that is the goal of both XXXXX and the Board.
B. The District shall provide properly trained personnel and the equipment necessary to ensure first aid treatment for the Members and students. The Building Trades instructors shall be provided with proper training and the equipment necessary to deliver first aid treatment when off site.
C. The District shall make available in the Education and Technology Center restroom facilities exclusively for Member use and one (1) room appropriately furnished which shall be reserved as a workroom for Members.
D. Adequate off-street paved parking facilities shall be provided, maintained, and identified for Member use.
E. Telephone facilities shall be made available for Member use. Personal long distance calls shall bethe responsibility of the Member.
F. The District shall, on days when programs are in session, make duplicating facilities available for Member use during normal operating hours for instructional-related materials. The District shall provide word processing services or equipment for word processing, copying, and audio-visual, to aid Members in the preparation of instructional materials. If available, sufficient secretarial support shall be provided.
G. The District shall provide a separate desk with a lockable drawer space for the exclusive use of each Member at the Education and Technology Center.
H. The District shall provide smocks for the Careers in Education Program or where appropriate; and shop coats and/or coveralls for trade and industry areas. Proper laundering service for all of said items shall be provided, without charge, to the Member.
I. Members may use their assigned work areas outside of the standard workdays and workhours for program and CTSO-related activities as long as the areas are not being used for Adult/Community Education classes or other previously-scheduled activities. Members must notify Administration when such use will extend past 4:00 p.m. on regular business days, as well as on non-regular business days.
TEACHING FACILITIES. A. The Employer will not require an employee to maintain, instruct, or supervise students in a classroom facility which is constructed or equipped in violation of any standards set forth in any bulletin published by the Superintendent of Public Instruction, statute, rule or regulation, nor will the Employer require a teacher to maintain, instruct or supervise students in a classroom facility that does not meet the “sanitary Standards for Schools.” No teacher will be required to work, maintain or supervise students in areas deemed to be unsafe or unhealthy.
B. At all times, the Employer shall provide in each building, the equipment necessary to ensure proper first aid treatment for the teachers and students.
C. The Employer will provide, in each school, a room appropriately furnished and ventilated for use as a faculty lounge and will provide lavatory facilities exclusively for faculty use. In addition, the teachers’ lounge will be furnished with a refrigerator and a microwave oven for teacher use. The Employer agrees to maintain the appliances in good working order.
D. Each employees’ lounge will be furnished with tables, chairs, curtains where applicable, and at least one couch.
E. The Employer will assign designated free parking facilities to teachers as close to their teaching stations as existing facilities permit.
F. Telephone facilities shall be made available to employees for their reasonable use to confer with parents of the children in their class. All personal calls will be charged to the employees’ home telephone number.
TEACHING FACILITIES. 18-1 1 The parties recognize that the availability of functional school facilities for both students and teachers is necessary to insure the high quality of education. All these facilities are designed to meet the needs of the educational program. The School Board will seek the recommendations of the teachers before teaching facilities are constructed or remodeled. In the case of team- teaching, whenever possible, those classes shall be assigned the most appropriate facilities for their size and function.
TEACHING FACILITIES. A. The Administration shall make every effort to provide each teacher ample office space and the equipment necessary, such as a desk, swivel chair, visitor's chair, file cabinet, bookcases, telephone, and computer for effective instructional preparation and function. The objective shall be a one-teacher office for each full-time teacher and opportunity for private conferences with students by part-time teachers within the Bargaining Unit.
B. The Board shall continue to provide a comfortable Faculty Lounge with facilities for eating, relaxing, and professional conferences and meetings.
C. The Board shall continue to provide at no charge a year-around parking place for each teacher.
D. Significant alterations affecting working conditions in any existing facilities shall be made only after prior consultation with the Union, with good faith intent to reach agreement.
TEACHING FACILITIES. The Board of Education will strive to maintain healthy and safe conditions at each school site in compliance with applicable statutes and/or regulations. When unsafe conditions occur, the teacher will report the situation to the administration for correction. The Board will strive to provide adequate teaching facilities, including, but not limited to, clean and sanitary restrooms and teacher work/lounge areas in each school building. Teachers will have access to a private telephone in each teacher’s lounge/work area. Persons desiring to visit a classroom must request such visits with the building administrator. The administrator will consult with the teacher prior to allowing any visit.
TEACHING FACILITIES. The Board will make reasonable efforts to maintain healthy and safe conditions at each school site in compliance with applicable statutes and/or regulations. Teachers shall not be required to work under unsafe or hazardous conditions as determined by the proper regulatory authority. Teachers shall report concerns of inadequacies to the building principal. In an effort to maintain healthy and safe working conditions, the Board and/or its designated representative, shall conduct periodic walk-throughs of each building site. Any concerns that have been brought before the principal shall be addressed during and/or before the walk-through. Walk-throughs should occur no less than two times per year. Should a teacher bring a concern to the principal that involves his/her health or the health of his/her students – the Board and/or its designated representative will complete a walk-through of said building within one week of notification. Should the concern warrant immediate attention, the Board will comply with all Health and Safety regulations to remediate the problem. Teachers shall not be required to work under unsafe or hazardous conditions as determined by proper regulatory authority, such as the Oklahoma State and Federal Departments of Health and Human Services, OSHA, local police and fire departments. Teacher concerns shall be reported in writing to his/her principal and the report shall be forwarded to the Superintendent. All certified personnel will have limited access, outside of school hours, to facilities for support and improvement of student performance in areas relating to their field of instruction and may receive private compensation for those services.
TEACHING FACILITIES. Recognizing the importance of properly maintained physical facilities to the attainment of a high level of educational achievement, the Administration and the Professional Staff will promote and maintain a safe and healthful working environment. Within the budgetary resources of the district, the Board will provide each teacher and itinerant special services personnel for professional instructional preparation with:
1. A work facility (desk or planning area).
2. A reasonable amount of teaching supplies and equipment to include by not be limited to: pencils, pens, paper, physical education equipment, student chairs, desks, etc.
3. A lockable storage space for art, music, physical education equipment at the elementary level and all special services personnel, which shall be used for their exclusive use, where space and equipment are available.
4. Telephone services and facilities for gathering confidential information.
5. A lockable desk and/or storage area for the personal effects of teachers.
6. Copy machines shall be available for use by teachers for the generating of instructional materials.
7. The equipment and material listed in Section N, 1 through 6 will be used in a prudent manner.
TEACHING FACILITIES. 1. No teacher shall be required to work, maintain or supervise students in areas deemed to be unsafe or unhealthy.
2. The Board shall make available, if possible, in each school, an adequate lunchroom, restrooms and lavatory facilities exclusively for adult staff use. There shall be at least one (1) room, appropriately furnished, reserved for use as a faculty workroom. Provision for such facility shall be made in all future buildings.
3. Whenever vending machines are used in the teacher’s lunchroom areas, the profits from all such machines shall be remitted to the building teachers for use in that building.
4. Telephone facilities shall be maintained for teacher’s reasonable use. A teacher who needs privacy to speak with a parent regarding a confidential student matter may contact his/her building principal who shall provide a telephone in a private setting.
TEACHING FACILITIES. 5.1 The Board will strive to provide adequate, healthy, and safe teaching facilities at each school.
5.2 Teachers shall have access to a private telephone. Teachers shall not have their cell phones on during instructional time. Exceptions may be granted by the principal.
5.3 Teachers shall be provided with a private workroom/lounge at each school. However, if no classrooms are available due to increased enrollment, the lounge may be converted into a classroom.
