Community Volunteers. The District may, after notifying CSEA, use volunteers to perform duties that are not routinely performed by classified staff on any of the Sonora Union High School District campuses. Such duties may include, but not be limited to, campus beautification projects. Prior to the performance of such volunteer work, the District shall meet and confer with CSEA regarding the scope of the project, the number of unit members needed to supervise the work, and what future impact, if any, the project may have on existing staff and workloads. The parties agree that the District may not use the terms of this provision to supplant the duties of current staff or preclude the rehiring of classified staff on the thirty-nine (39) month reemployment list. The terms of this provision do not negate the District’s authority to employ short-term employees in accordance with Education Code section 45103.

Community Volunteers. The District and the Association encourage volunteers to enhance the educational enterprise by providing services which do not constitute bargaining unit work exclusively reserved to unit members. Volunteers may participate in classroom activities with the consent of the teacher.
Community Volunteers. The Alliance recognizes that community volunteers can provide diversified opportunities for students and staff alike. Hence, in such cases where the unique skills and/or experiences of a community volunteer can be utilized to augment the existing educational program, community volunteers shall be permitted in the District, provided such volunteers not perform any functions or provide any services for which unit members are ordinarily paid, and further provided that the District first provide notice to the Alliance. It is understood that it is not the intent of this provision to adversely affect the unit or any of its members, nor shall it result in the displacement of any unit work. A dispute as to the application of this language may be submitted to expedited arbitration, utilizing the arbitration clause of this agreement and submitted at the arbitration stage. The foregoing shall not be asserted by the District as proof of lack of exclusivity on the part of the E.T.A. of unit instructional work.
Community Volunteers. Volunteers who may perform bargaining unit work will be permitted with approval by both parties (Employer and Union) prior to the recruitment of any potential volunteers.
Community Volunteers. The Association and the School District mutually recognize the value of community involvement and contributions of personal services in the operation of the programs of the School District. Consistent with this principle the parties hereto agree that the School District may accept and utilize the services and assistance of volunteers in the operation of its programs; provided, however, that the utilization of such volunteer assistance and services shall not cause either the furlough of any bargaining unit member or the reduction in the number of hours ordinarily assigned to any bargaining unit member.
Community Volunteers. The parties specifically agree that the District may utilize volunteers or non-District personnel including parents, members of the community and community businesses to perform work such as repair of buildings, playground equipment, refurbishment, construction or replacement of equipment or facilities.
Community Volunteers. During this quarter, 62 lay counselors were trained in basic CT from Central, Copperbelt Luapula, and Northern Provinces through four trainings. This brings the total number of lay counselors trained in the project to 554. Of these total trained, 385 are currently working in the facilities. 90 adherence support workers (ASWs) from Central, Copperbelt, Luapula, and Northern provinces were also trained this quarter bringing the total number of ASWs trained in the project to 521. Of this total, 411 are currently working in the facilities. ZPCT conducted two community volunteer seminars in Luapula and North Western Provinces. The purpose of the two-day seminar for the community cadres (lay counselors, PMTCT volunteers, adherence support workers) was to allow sharing of experiences, best practices, achievements, and challenges among the volunteers and the facilities, as well as to provide technical updates in their areas of work such as updates on HIV testing, the pediatric ART scale-up, follow-up of pregnant women and infant diagnosis. During the seminars, facility staff and supervisors were invited to participate, share experiences and respond to volunteer queries. Central Province will conduct their seminars next quarter. During this quarter 17 stigma reduction workshops were facilitated and rolled out at the ZPCT supported health facilities. The participants in these stigma workshops included; HCWs, DECs, community volunteers (lay counselors, ASWs), and people living with HIV/AIDS. These stigma reduction roll out workshops where implemented in Kabwe (11), Ndola (four), Mwinilunga (one), and Kabompo (one) districts. These trainers will train other HCWs, PLHA and community groups in facilities and communities to conduct exercises to increase awareness on the negative effects of stigma. This is expected to contribute to stigma reduction at the facility and community setting that will lead to increased uptake of services. Participants were selected by respective facilities and the training workshops were based on the regional anti-stigma tool kit.

Community Volunteers. The organization agrees that they are responsible for ensuring that all volunteers who are participating in the event covered by this agreement meet the organizations’ requirements for screening and training, including those volunteers who are not members of the organization but are volunteering for the event covered by this agreement.

  • Community Involvement The Grantee will facilitate and convene a Community Task Force as one means of developing collaboration among the Grantee, affected residents, and the broader community. The Grantee also will provide information to keep the Community Task Force fully apprised of the planning and implementation of revitalization efforts. The Community Task Force shall be comprised of affected public housing residents, local government officials, service providers, community groups, and others. The Community Task Force will provide advice, counsel and recommendations to the Grantee on all aspects of the HOPE VI development process, including shaping the goals and outcome of the Community and Supportive Services Plan. Community Task Force participants also will disseminate information throughout the community about the Grantee's revitalization efforts. The Grantee's responsibilities with regard to the Community Task Force include: (1) convening and participating in the Community Task Force and other advisory groups; (2) ensuring that regular meetings of the Community Task Force are held to apprise participants of the status of the development process and to solicit comments, opinions, advice, and recommendations on the planning and implementation of the Grantee's revitalization efforts; and (3) if requested by HUD, entering into a memorandum of understanding with the members of the Community Task Force setting forth the manner and frequency of task force meetings, the method (if any) for designating resident and community participants, and the issues that the task force will discuss and develop.

  • Volunteer Peer Assistants 1. Up to eight (8)

  • Ambulance Escort Where a nurse is assigned to provide patient care for a patient in transit, the following provisions shall apply: i) Where a full-time nurse performs such duties during her or his regular shift, the full-time nurse shall be paid her or his regular rate of pay. Where a full-time nurse performs such duties outside her or his regular shift or on a day off, she or he shall be paid the appropriate overtime rate. ii) Where a part-time nurse performs such duties during an assigned shift, she or he shall be paid her or his regular rate of pay. Where a part-time nurse continues to perform such duties in excess of her or his assigned shift, she or he shall be paid the appropriate overtime rate. (b) Where such duties extend beyond the nurse's regular shift, the Hospital will not require the nurse to return to regular duties at the hospital without at least eight (8) hours of time off. Where such time off extends into the nurse's next regularly scheduled shift she or he will maintain her or his regular earnings for that full shift. (c) Hours spent between the time the nurse is relieved of patient care responsibilities and the time the nurse returns to the hospital or to such other location agreed upon between the Hospital and the nurse will be paid at straight time or at appropriate overtime rates, if applicable under Article 14. 01. It is understood that the nurse shall return to the hospital or to such other location agreed upon between the Hospital and the nurse at the earliest opportunity. Prior to the nurse's departure on escort duty, or at such other time as may be mutually agreed upon between the Hospital and the nurse, the Hospital will establish with the nurse arrangements for return travel. (d) The nurse shall be reimbursed for reasonable out of pocket expenses including room, board and return transportation and consideration will be given to any special circumstances not dealt with under the foregoing provisions. NOTE 1: (Note 1 applies to full-time nurses only) The Hospital agrees to continue to pay any greater monetary benefit for ambulance escort duty if such greater benefit has been paid by the Hospital immediately prior to this Agreement. This note applies at Hospitals where this superior condition exists as of December 14, 1987. NOTE 2: (Note 2 applies to part-time nurses only) The Hospital agrees to continue to pay any greater monetary benefit for ambulance escort duty if such greater benefit was paid by the Hospital under a Collective Agreement immediately prior to this Agreement. This note applies at Hospitals where this superior condition exists as of December 14, 1987.

  • Volunteer A person who performs a service willingly and without pay.

  • Community Engagement The HSP will engage the community of diverse persons and entities in the area where it provides health services when setting priorities for the delivery of health services and when developing plans for submission to the LHIN including but not limited to CAPS and integration proposals. As part of its community engagement activities, the HSPs will have in place and utilize effective mechanisms for engaging families, caregivers, clients, residents, patients and other individuals who use the services of the HSP, to help inform the HSP plans, including the HSP’s contribution to the establishment and implementation by the LHIN of geographic sub-regions in its local health system.
