Court-Related Leave. (a) Leave of absence without loss of regular pay shall be given to an employee who is compelled to serve on a jury.

Court-Related Leave. Any teacher who is required to serve as a juror will be reimbursed in accordance with existing State statutes and/or regulations. Teachers serving on jury duty beyond three (3) days will be reimbursed the difference between their per diem salary and the State allotment. Any teacher who is required to appear in a court of law under subpoena will be reimbursed the difference between their per diem salary and the State allotment.
Court-Related Leave. A. In accordance with College policy, as may be amended from time to time, a court related leave of absence with pay shall be granted to any faculty member summoned for jury duty or subpoenaed as a witness in a case. Any fees paid by the court to the faculty member shall be retained by the faculty member.
Court-Related Leave. Any teacher called for jury duty during school hours or who is subpoenaed to testify during school hours in any judicial or administrative matter (except a matter in which the teacher is an adverse party to the School District), connected with the teacher's employment or the operation of the School District, shall be paid his full salary for such time, provided that the teacher must reimburse the District the amount of compensation received from such duty, if any.

When not involved in litigation on behalf of the College, a faculty member serving as a witness for a court proceeding may keep any fees earned.
Court-Related Leave. Nurses may be absent without loss of pay to serve on a jury or to obey a summons issued by a legally-established court unless she/he is a defendant in court proceedings. Such absence is not charged to sick leave. A nurse receiving compensation for this duty shall receive his/her regular salary, less any compensation for such duty. If a nurse defendant is found to be not guilty or in a civil case, disposition is in favor of the defendant by the court, the nurse shall be paid retroactively for time lost because of summons, provided verification of the verdict is provided within thirty (30) days of the absence. A nurse pleading nolo contendre shall not be paid.
