Credited Service Toward Tenure. (a) Because an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor are eligible for tenure after the third year of tenure-earning service at UNF, no credit toward tenure from service at another institution of higher education is awarded. However, faculty members may use accomplishments at another institution, particularly in the area of research/scholarship/creative activity, in support of their candidacy for tenure at UNF.

Credited Service Toward Tenure. 99 100 (a) Because an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor are eligible for 101 tenure after the third year of tenure-earning service at UNF, no credit toward 102 tenure from service at another institution of higher education is awarded. 103 However, faculty members may use accomplishments at another institution, 104 particularly in the area of research/scholarship/creative activity, in support of their 105 candidacy for tenure at UNF. 106 107 (b) If a faculty member is initially appointed to the rank of Instructor or to another 108 non-tenure-earning rank and is subsequently appointed to a tenure-earning 109 position, all or a portion of the prior service in such non-tenure-earning position 110 may be counted toward tenure provided that the University President or designee 111 agrees in writing to credit such service. 112 113 (c) If a faculty member is on compensated or uncompensated leave (except annual 114 leave) during any part of a semester, the entire semester shall not be credited as 115 time accrued toward tenure, except by mutual written agreement of the faculty 116 member and the University Administration. In deciding whether to credit such 117 leave, the University Administration shall consider the duration of the leave, the 118 relevance of the faculty member’s activities while on such leave to the tenure 119 and/or promotion criteria, the relevance of the faculty member’s activities while 120 on such leave to the faculty member’s professional development and field of 121 employment, and other appropriate factors. 122 123 (d) Time spent on a joint appointment or approved personnel exchange program for 124 the benefit of the University, or a special assignment that benefits the University, 125 shall be counted toward tenure eligibility unless there is a written agreement to 126 the contrary between the faculty member and the University Administration. 127 128 (e) Upon written request, in exceptional circumstances the President or designee may 129 extend the tenure-earning period. 130 131 19.5 Criteria for Tenure and Basis for Tenure Decision. 132 133 (a) The decision to award tenure to a faculty member shall be a result of meritorious 134 performance and shall be consistent with the University’s tenure criteria and the 135 guidelines relating to research/scholarship/creative activity adopted pursuant to 136 Article 9 that explain the for application of those criteria pursuant to Article 9. 137 The faculty member’s accomplishme...

  • PERIOD OF SERVICE The Consultant shall complete the Services on or before December 31, 2019 (the “Deadline”), unless the Authority agrees to extend the Deadline for good reason; provided, however, that the Authority may terminate this Contract at any time in accordance with Section 14. Time is of the essence in performance of this Contract. There will be no obligation established between Authority and the Consultant for performance of the Services until Authority provides the Consultant execution of this Contract and receipt by the Authority of appropriate Certificates of Insurance and other documentation as may be required herein. The term of this Contract (“Term”) shall begin on the Effective Date and shall end on the first to occur of the following: (1) the Deadline, as the same may have been extended by the Authority, (2) the date on which, in the opinion of Authority, all of the Services have been rendered, (3) the date on which this Contract is terminated by the Authority pursuant to Section 14, or (4) the date on which this Contract is terminated by the Consultant pursuant to Section 14.
