Donation of Vacation Time. An employee may donate in four (4) hour increments his/her accumulated vacation time to another employee who has exhausted their sick leave and vacation leave due to an extended, catastrophic or serious medical condition of the employee, or member of the employee’s immediate family (child, spouse, parent, or person for which the employee has been designated as legal guardian). An employee may also donate vacation time, pursuant to the form above, in the event of the death of an employee. Such donation shall be on a form prescribed by the County Auditor. The hours donated will be deducted from the donating employee's accumulated balance and credited to the accumulation vacation account of the employee receiving the donation. The accepting employee shall be responsible for payment of any applicable taxes. The County shall withhold any amounts authorized or required by law.

Related to Donation of Vacation Time

  • Time of Vacation (a) All vacation earned during one (1) vacation year shall be taken during the next following vacation year at a mutually agreeable time.

  • Accumulation of Vacation Vacation leave may be accumulated to any amount provided that once during each fiscal year, each supervisor's accumulation must be reduced to two hundred and seventy-five (275) hours or less. If this is not accomplished on or before the last day of the fiscal year, the amount of vacation shall automatically be reduced to two hundred seventy-five (275) hours at the end of the fiscal year. Supervisors on a Military Leave under Appendix I shall earn vacation leave as though actually employed, without regard to the maximum accumulation set forth above. Vacation earned in excess of the maximum accumulation shall be taken within two (2) years of the date the supervisor returns from the Military Leave.

Donating unit members shall retain a thirty (30) day balance of sick leave after their donation and may donate no more than twenty-five (25) days of sick leave per year. Part-time faculty may receive sick leave donations from any employee, and may donate accumulated sick leave to other part-time faculty following the same requirements as outlined above. Part-time faculty may not donate sick leave to full- time employees.
