Educational Assistant Group. (a) Educational Assistant I Shall be appointed by the Deputy Superintendent of Human Resources to assist students under the supervision of a teacher. This individual is expected to have an Educational Assistant Certificate from a certified post-secondary educational institution. Such a certificate would require the completion of a minimum of 650 instructional hours from a recognized post-secondary educational institution. Other training which is related to the Employee’s specific job duties and is no less than the minimum of 650 instructional hours from a recognized post-secondary institution and which is deemed equivalent by the Deputy Superintendent - Human Resources may be considered for the purposes of placing an Employee in this job classification. Those employed as an Educational Assistant with the Division prior to October 1, 1990 shall be included in this classification.
